Good day to all!
I had been planning my first full-fledged fishing trip in open water with the goal of catching carp for almost a week. I learned how to equip my first carp fishing rod. I decided on the equipment, prepared two of them: one with a method feeder (60 g), the other with a flat method feeder (70 g). So to speak, I wanted to try both the first option and the second. Carp sports equipment was not suitable for me due to the lack of tools for feeding distant points. Initially, we planned to go somewhere with a very large contingent, but during the week, half of my friends had urgent matters for Saturday.

On Friday evening, I collected fishing belongings and prepared porridge for bait and nipples. I prepared the porridge according to my own, constantly experimental, recipe and composition. This time I used split peas, barley and corn cereals, semolina, sugar, vanilla sugar, unrefined sunflower oil and halva. On the spot, the porridge was already rolled on top in the dry Dunaev carp-carp bait. There was a double meaning to this. Firstly, the porridge on the road lost its consistency, became sticky and softer than the original (I don’t know how to overcome this yet - I’m experimenting). Secondly, the composition of this bait has a lot of fine particles, which, if dropped into water and immersed, in my opinion, would create bait “dust”. As it turned out, this approach was justified. I will continue to experiment in this direction when preparing bait.

Departure from Kursk at 3 am, at the reservoir - near the pretty town of Nizhnie Peny - me and two friends found ourselves at 5 am in the monotonous rain and an unpleasant south wind. Dawn was just beginning. The wave on the pond is decent. We got out of the car and wandered around. They didn’t find anyone, they saw a sign “Occupied” on one of the gazebos. There was no such sign on the neighboring gazebo. I looked around, there was enough space to throw, despite the wires overhead a little behind. We decided to uncover ourselves, although our friends had no desire to face the rain - they went to take a nap for half an hour.

By about 6 a.m., other fishermen began to arrive and occupy gazebos near ours and further to the left along the pond. The gazebo we occupied was, it seems, the second one from the dam. While my friends were dozing, I managed to throw a couple of floats and assemble a carp fishing rod in the rarely stopping rain. As a result, we threw 2 floats (on one bait - corn in honey, on the other - a couple of canned corn), 4 bottom tackles (3 equipped with nipples with porridge, one of them - a carp with a triangular reel method with the same porridge and a bait in the form of boiled peas). The fishing distance was chosen naturally - the bottom gear didn’t fly much, and I was only training with carp and didn’t make any effort - 35-40 meters. The rain gradually subsided, but the wind and general cold made it difficult to enjoy fishing. Although a couple of good crucian carp pecked at a friend’s nipple, I couldn’t get any pleasure from fishing. True, I was saved by the two jackets I dressed myself in.

At 9 am there was a boring carp bite on the nipple, but there was no limit to surprise when I started reeling out the tackle and received the long-awaited carp resistance. A carp, a little over a kilogram, swam to catch us. The mood has improved, and the neighbors, no, no, but a carp or two slipped by. And then I noticed that the wind had changed. Now the wind was blowing, although gusty, from the north and sometimes from the northwest.

Then everything calmed down (and the weather began to improve slightly, and the bite became rare), and crucians landed occasionally. A more or less good carp bite began around 11-12 noon. First, I caught the carp again on the nipple, then the first bite and the first fish on the carp – also a carp a little over a kilogram.
