The main thing is that the weather does not let us down: crucian carp bite better on sunny, windless days. To rouse a sleeping predator, move the hook with an attachment (preferably a bloodworm) from time to time.
You can focus on the driftwood. There is a lot of silt under them, in which predatory fish often hide. However, you need to skillfully fish for snags.
In cold water, large fish react poorly to horizontal fishing, but better to vertical fishing. Based on this, experienced fishermen advise using jig baits.
The “constant chiseling” technique works well. When the fisherman makes a pendulum cast two to three meters under a snag, then retrieves it during the falling phase, and, lifting the rod, pulls out the bait.
And so again and again. Until the predator reacts. And as practice shows, he can do this with both the fifth and tenth “hit” in one place.
