Communication, fishing reports, knowledge -
This is what every angler needs. The easiest way to find all this is in VKontakte groups. True, you need to know where exactly to look...
There are several hundred VKontakte groups about fishing in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. Most of them are a dump of promotional videos, funny pictures about fishing, and platitudes like “5 types of fishing knots that everyone should know.” Therefore, out of these hundreds, hardly three dozen groups are worth subscribing to. We have selected 10 “diamonds” - these are the groups that any fisherman should visit. The rating included only open groups, since the information in them is publicly available, even without a VKontakte account.
So, let's start our rating!

Review of fishing reservoirs in the Leningrad region
On the territory of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region there are a large number of water resources suitable for fishing.
Not only local residents fish in local rivers and reservoirs, but also numerous tourists who are attracted by the variety of prey.
Here you can meet and catch the following types of fish:
Where can you go fishing for free in the Leningrad region?
A large number of water resources allows you to choose reservoirs and rivers depending on the desired production and conditions.
The most popular free fishing spots are:
On the territory of the Leningrad region there are also a large number of reservoirs where paid fishing is practiced.
The top 5 best places of this type are as follows:
- Greenvald Park Scandinavia. In the park there is a forest lake with paid fishing; its waters are home to pike, perch, carp, and rainbow trout
- Lake "Monetka" is one of the first paid reservoirs in the region.
- “Quiet Backwater” is another popular paid reservoir, located in a picturesque location and surrounded on all sides by forest.
- “Tsarskaya Fishing” is a large recreation complex, on the territory of which there are two reservoirs with paid fishing services; The prey here includes crucian carp, trout and carp.
- “Fishing in Lepsari” is a small reservoir of a paid type, it is inhabited by pike and crucian carp, and also artificial breeding of grass carp, trout and carp is carried out.
Below are the conditions and prices for fishing for the paid reservoirs discussed above:
Below are some reviews about fishing in various reservoirs of the Leningrad region:
Our favorite place is Lake “Monetka”, every time we returned from there with a good catch of carp, sometimes we caught trout. There is sturgeon in the reservoir, the cost of which is very high, but we have never managed to catch it.”
I caught this pike using a bite activator. I’ve never caught one of these before, but now every time I bring back trophy specimens from fishing! The time has come for you to guarantee your catch.
Crucian carp is a permanent resident of most reservoirs, ponds and lakes. This fish is widespread, but the number of fishermen who want to catch it is no less.
The peculiarity of crucian carp is that it is a rather cautious fish. In this regard, it is better to catch crucian carp in the Leningrad region using thin fishing line and small hooks. Fishermen advise using float rods, feeders and donks.
Pay attention to areas of ponds covered with grass, near water lilies and other thickets. Crucian carp prefers just such places: if sedge sticks out of the water or the surface is completely covered with duckweed, this is a sure sign that the fish is somewhere nearby.
The more vegetation, the better. If the water is covered with a dense layer of duckweed, clear a small area as if you were making a hole in winter. This usually helps catch fairly large specimens.
St. Petersburg crucian carp is not picky and prefers maggots, worms and bread. At the same time, it is not necessary to take only the crumb; the steamed crust of a loaf or bagel is perfect. Their consistency is more convenient than regular crumb - just put everything in a colander, hold it over a saucepan and boiling water for 3 minutes, and voila, the treat is ready.
However, oily fish can be gourmet. To catch them, make a mash of semolina with various additives. Completely different products bring good results: garlic, kerosene, valerian.
We have a lot of crucian carp everywhere, but why not feed your own fish in a body of water that is convenient for you. As we have already found out, this fish is not picky and quite favors ordinary bait mixtures, purchased in a store, or made independently from cereals, cookies, etc. with the addition of maggots, bloodworms and bread. Additional ingredients in the form of oil, garlic, vanilla or even WD-40 will make your bait tastier.
There are several reservoirs within the city - this is a pond on Budapestskaya, on Leni Golikova, on Srednyaya Rogatka and on Tankist Khrustishchkogo. In these ponds you can catch not only small fish, but also quite large specimens. Also in the Gulf of Finland near LEMZ, some good crucian carp are caught.
However, within the city limits the parishes leave much to be desired, and often the thickets that this fish loves so much are covered with an even layer of garbage on top of a dense layer of duckweed. Therefore, we still advise you to go to the Leningrad region, where the water is cleaner, and it’s more pleasant to be, and you can catch something bigger and tastier.
Therefore, we invite you to our Svirskaya base - we have a pond on the territory, and the Svir River, and Lake Ladoga. And there are plenty of fish in any weather. And if you don’t know exactly how to catch crucian carp or anyone else, the administrator will clearly show and tell you everything, and you won’t have to wander around St. Petersburg parks with a fishing rod, hoping for luck.

A youth group, the general idea of which can be described as follows: competitions, competitions and more competitions. And all this is in the city. There are many photos of perches and pikes with lines, photos of pike perch against the backdrop of the Liteiny Bridge - in general, a good community for those who sometimes want to get out of the house with a spinning rod and spend the evening in the company of like-minded people.
Fishing for crucian carp in June
Fishing for crucian carp in June in familiar bodies of water becomes understandable and, in most cases, predictable. In unfamiliar bodies of water, you will have to work hard to make fishing for crucian carp enjoyable. What is special about crucian carp fishing in June? The uniqueness of June crucian fishing lies in the fact that some part of the population is in the spawning stage, another has already spawned, and the third is just preparing for spawning at the end of the month. Accordingly, some crucian carp feed and bite well, while others do not pay attention to any bait at all. Moreover, all this happens within one body of water.
#8. Fishing in Boksitogorsk

One of two VKontakte fishing groups in our ranking that are not based in St. Petersburg. For fishermen from St. Petersburg, the group is interesting, first of all, because of the large number of reports on fishing on Ladoga. In addition, there are also interesting catches in the reservoirs of the eastern Leningrad region. In the 2015-2016 winter season, the ice in the eastern part of the region appeared almost a month earlier than elsewhere, so the residents of Bauxitogorsk were already catching perch with all their might when the St. Petersburg residents were only dreaming about it.
Route to clean rivers and lakes of the Leningrad region - 10 places for recreation and fishing
The Tikhvinka flows through the territory of the Boksitogorsk and Tikhvin districts of the Leningrad region. This is the right tributary of the Syasi River in the area of the village of Ovino, it belongs to the basin of Lake Ladoga, as well as to the river basin of the Neva River, including the basins of the Onega and Lake Ladoga rivers.
The length of the Tikhvinka River is 144 km. The river bed is winding; the average width is 30-35 m. The maximum width of the river reaches 50 m. From the source, the river flows in narrow rocky banks, crossing a number of small lakes along the way. The river has many rapids, ridges and shoals. In the middle reaches, the riverbed is muddy for a considerable length, and in the lower reaches it is rocky. Along the way there are large stones, along the banks mixed forests alternate with fields and meadows.
River depths reach 5 m. The soils are sandy and rocky-sandy, in places muddy. The river has a mixed diet, including snow, which predominates. Throughout its entire length, Tikhvinka receives water from 22 tributaries: rivers and streams ranging in length from 4 to 85 km. The largest of them are rivers: Ryadan (85 km), Shomushka (65 km), Rybezhka (55 km). Tikhvinka freezes in mid-November - early January, opens in April - early May.
Tikhvin is an ancient city on the river. The Tikhvin churchyard is mentioned in the chronicle of 1383. In 1510-1515, a stone Assumption Cathedral was erected here, which has survived to this day. On the left bank of the Tikhvinka in 1560, the Bolshoi Tikhvinsky (Uspensky) was built in Tikhvin. On its territory is the Tikhvin Historical-Memorial and Architectural-Art Museum, the oldest and one of the largest in the Leningrad region. On the right bank of the Tikhvinka River stands the Tikhvin Vvedensky Convent, built by order of Tsar Ivan the Terrible in the mid-16th century.
Tikhvin is famous for the miraculous Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, which, according to legend, miraculously appeared on the banks of the Tikhvinka River on June 26 (July 9), 1383. Later, a monastery and a city appeared on this site. The Tikhvin monasteries had fortifications, as they served as important fortified points in the north-west of Rus'. The buildings of the Great Tikhvin Monastery have survived to this day and represent interesting historical and architectural monuments of the 17th-18th centuries.
During the Great Patriotic War, fierce battles were fought in Tikhvin and the city was severely destroyed. In memory of the exploits of the military and soldiers, such monuments were erected in the city so that they remember -
- At the entrance to the city from the village of Astracha, in the “Mananova field”, an artillery gun on a pedestal: a 76-mm divisional gun of the 1942 model (ZIS-3), installed in honor of the Soviet artillery soldiers who fought for Tikhvin during the Great Patriotic War;
- Monument-stele on the site from where the Soviet troops began their offensive in December 1941 to liberate Tikhvin from the Nazi invaders - the famous “thirty-four” on a pedestal.
- The MiG-21 aircraft, installed in 1985 in honor of the aviators who defended Tikhvin and Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War. Located at the intersection of highways A114 and P36.
There is another big attraction here - in the old part of Tikhvin, on the banks of the Tikhvinka River there is a house where the composer N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov was born. Not only spiritual people and admirers of the composer make a pilgrimage here, but also those tourists who want to have a good rest on the banks of the clean Tikhvinka River, where there are good beaches.
Amateur fishing is popular here. The river is inhabited by perch, roach, pike, ruffe, ide, rudd, chub, burbot, and grayling. Crucian carp is extremely rare, but tench have appeared. The most widely represented are phytophilic fish species, whose spawning grounds are located throughout the river in areas with higher aquatic vegetation. The river is a migratory route for lake trout to spawning grounds located in tributaries. The river is home to the broad-toed crayfish.
There are many fans of kayaking on the Tikhvinka River who receive a lot of indelible emotions and impressions from this process. And everyone who has gotten used to kayaking here notes that the local nature is beautiful and picturesque. Everyone who comes here to ride or swim says that nature pleases with its beautiful views, the river with its peaceful disposition and small tributaries and rapids.
The best time to go fishing is March, all summer months and September; for relaxing on the beaches of the river - summer. Various festivals are held in Tikhvin all year round and you can visit the spiritual, ancient, historical and modern attractions of the city.

Irrelevant lures
When going fishing in October, set aside poppers, small wobblers, walkers, gliders, small spinners and spoons. The general consensus among many fishermen is that they will be of little use to you. Although there are exceptions when the pike refuses to bite on large toys. Still, fishing is not mathematics, and it is not possible to calculate everything.
