Good afternoon, dear guests of my page! Kudos to Louis Pasteur for inventing canning. Thanks to this Frenchman, we can invent all sorts of dishes from canned foods. For example, canned fish pie, or this wonderful super-fast fish soup. The salad that we will prepare today contains two types of canned food - green peas and a can of canned fish. The rest of the ingredients are always in the house, which is why this fish salad is prepared very quickly, and eaten even faster.

  • 6-7 potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 1 jar canned green peas
  • 1 can of fish, canned in oil or juice
  • vegetable oil

Boil the potatoes. Cool it, peel it and cut it into medium-sized cubes. Cut the onion into small cubes and add to the chopped potatoes. Drain the liquid from the green peas and add to the bowl.

We open a can of canned fish, I remove all the large bones and only then mash the fish with a fork, without pouring out its own juice or oil. Add the fish to our bowl, add vegetable oil and mix everything well. If desired, you can season with mayonnaise and add herbs.

How to prepare “Canned fish salad with potatoes”

Prepare all ingredients.

Peel and cut the potatoes into cubes; you can use either warm or already cooled.

Drain all liquid from canned fish and mash with a fork. Add to potatoes.

Chop the greens with a knife. I used parsley, but any seasonal one will do.

Cut the onion into cubes, pour boiling water over it to remove the bitterness and squeeze lightly. Along with the onion, add oil, salt and ground pepper to the salad.

Mix everything well. Canned fish salad with potatoes is ready.

Half a kilo of boiled potatoes and a head of onion are cut into medium and small cubes. Drain the liquid from the jar of peas and add it to the potatoes and onions.   • 3 tbsp. l. any high-quality sunflower oil, preferably odorless;
  • 1 tbsp. l. lemon juice;

Step-by-step cooking process

First you need to boil, cool and peel the skins of the potatoes and the shells of the chicken eggs.

After this, you can proceed to quickly assembling the salad:

  1. Cut the potatoes into small cubes or grate them on a coarse grater, put half in a salad bowl, distributing it evenly along the bottom.
  2. Place some of the fish mashed with a fork on top.
  3. Chop the eggs and place half on top of the fish.
  4. Grate the cucumber on a coarse grater and place some of it in an even layer on top of the eggs.
  5. Repeat all layers.
  6. Prepare a dressing from a mixture of vegetable oil, spices and lemon juice. Gently distribute it over the entire surface of the dish.

Rules for serving dishes, decoration

The salad needs to be given a little time to brew. Before serving, garnish the dish with finely chopped green onions.

Original puff fish salad

If you want to surprise your family or friends, you can prepare an unusual dish of fish and potatoes, served as a layered salad. You need to stock up on the following products:

  • jacket potatoes;
  • smoked fish;
  • onion;
  • salted cucumbers;
  • apple;
  • mustard, sour cream, vinegar, spices for dressing;
  • greenery.

The potatoes are cooled and cut into small neat slices, the apple into cubes, cucumbers into slices, onions and fish into equal cubes. Place a layer of potatoes on a flat dish, grease it with a dressing of 300 g of sour cream, 15 ml of vinegar, a tablespoon of mustard and spices. The next layer will be fish, then onion, apple, and finally a layer with cucumber. Each layer is well soaked with dressing.

A dish of smoked fish is garnished with parsley, allowed to brew and served.

Red salad of fish in tomato sauce and potatoes

You can decorate the table with a bright and memorable salad of potatoes and canned fish in tomato sauce. To prepare it you will need the following products:

  • can of sardine in tomato;
  • half a kilogram of boiled potatoes;
  • onion head;
  • several tomatoes and red peppers;
  • a tablespoon of tomato paste;
  • a little dry white wine;
  • a couple of cloves of garlic;
  • vegetable oil;
  • spices, salt.

The fish is kneaded and placed on a plate. Add finely chopped fresh vegetables, chop the potatoes into cubes. The onion is cut into rings and fried a little in a frying pan, adding a little white wine and tomato paste, season the mixture with the onion with squeezed garlic and spices and simmer for several minutes.   4. Cut the pickled cucumbers into half rings and add to the rest of the ingredients.
  5. Season the salad with mayonnaise.

What can I add?

Fish salad with potatoes and cheese

You can easily prepare a delicious fish salad from canned fish without spending a lot of time on it. Delicious, filling and not at all expensive salad. It is quick to prepare and the products are available to every family.

The fish and potato salad turns out to be especially satisfying; the combination of products is almost classic.

  • canned food 1 can - tuna or pink salmon, salmon potatoes - 2-3 pcs carrots - 1 pcs onions - 1 pcs eggs - 4 pcs hard cheese - 50 g mayonnaise - for dressing salt and pepper - to taste herbs for decoration

Drain the juice from canned fish, remove large bones and mash with a fork.

Wash the potatoes and carrots and boil until tender in their skins, cool, peel and cut into small cubes.

Hard boil the eggs, peel them and chop finely. Peel the onion and chop it very finely. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

Step-by-step cooking process

The salad is assembled in layers.

  1. Separate the boiled egg whites, grate them on a coarse grater, spread evenly in the first layer, and brush with mayonnaise.
  2. Open the canned fish, drain the oil, mash the pink salmon with a fork and carefully place the egg whites in an even layer over the entire surface.
  3. Peel and finely chop the onion, lightly salt and crush to remove excess bitterness. It is better to take sweet varieties of onions. You can pour boiling water over it for a few minutes, then thoroughly drain the water and lay the onion in an even layer on top of the fish.
  4. The next layer should be grated with cooled butter on a coarse grater and carefully distributed over the entire surface.
  5. Boiled carrots need to be peeled, coarsely grated, placed in the next layer, and coated generously with mayonnaise.
  6. Grate hard cheese on top and distribute it evenly over the entire surface of the dish. You can grease it again with mayonnaise or immediately paint it with boiled chicken yolks grated into a fine grater.

What can I add?

Some versions of this salad use boiled potatoes, which makes the dish more filling. The salad can be collected in portions on plates using a ring, which is then carefully removed.

For fish and potato salad you need:

  • 600 gr. potatoes;
  • 450 gr. hot smoked fish;
  • 350 gr. green beans;
  • 1 onion head;
  • 20 gr. Dijon mustard;
  • 20 gr. wine vinegar;
  • 60 gr. olive oil;
  • 40 gr. capers.

Salad with fish and potatoes:

  1. The potatoes are washed with a brush and then boiled in a saucepan in salted water, cooled and peeled, cut into slices on a board and poured into a salad bowl.
  2. At the same time as the potatoes, boil the beans, then drain them in a colander and place them in the same salad bowl.
  3. Next, prepare a sauce from mustard, oil, vinegar and capers, and mix these components together.
  4. Pour half of this sauce over the potatoes and beans.
  5. The fish is separated from the skin, all the bones are removed and finely cut with a knife.
  6. The onion is freed from the husk, washed and chopped into thin slices with a knife.

Fish salad with green onions

Ingredients:

  • 200 g of canned saury or other fish;
  • 3 eggs;
  • 2 fresh cucumbers;
  • 60 - 70 g green onions;
  • 2 tbsp. spoons of mayonnaise;
  • salt pepper.

Preparation:

1. Boil the eggs, cool and grate them on a coarse grater. 2. Coarsely grate the cucumbers. 3. Chop the onion. 4. Mash the fish with a fork. 5. Mix everything.

  1. I’ll make a reservation right away: to prepare mimosa salad, I don’t use onions or butter. In my opinion they are unnecessary. The onions just don't work well with the rest of the ingredients in my opinion, and are too tough for such a delicate salad. All the tricks that cooks offer: boiling, scalding, marinating, only spoil the final product.
