Description: A picturesque place not far from the city. It is better to fish here with a fishing rod and choose the evening time for this. Excellent nature, many trees, and very beautiful sunsets.

How to get there: located 16 km from Tambov, (30 minutes drive), next to. Krasnosvobodnoe. Fish: crucian carp and rudd. Description: The pond is located in the village itself, and local fishermen often go there. There is no marvelous picturesque nature here, but the place is quite fishy. The shore is open and sandy and there is a good access to the water. You can take a group of people with you and organize a small picnic.
Alekseevka
How to get there: 55 km from Tambov in the Znamensky district, along the Tambov-Voronezh highway, about an hour’s drive. Fish: crucian carp, roach, bleak, rudd, perch. Description: Despite the fact that it is a bit far from the city, the place is very beautiful and picturesque.
It’s better to go there in the morning, the bite is better at this time. The shore is overgrown with reeds, so getting to the water is difficult, you will have to leave the fishing rod with some inconvenience. There are usually no people here, so you can safely sit on the shore, sunbathe, relax and fish.

Orlovsky-Polevoy
How to get there: 21 km from Tambov, drive about half an hour along the Tambov-Voronezh highway. Fish: perch, pike, roach, rudd. Description: This pond has very clean water; in addition to fish, there are also inhabitants such as crayfish. It is better to fish here with a spinning rod. Fishermen who visit this reservoir unanimously say that pike is best caught with a wobbler.
Lakes
The total number of reservoirs is about two thousand, but fishing in the Tambov region will bring the desired result only on 20-30 of them. Most of the lakes do not exceed 2 meters in depth, so fishing in them is not possible.
Almost 250 hectares of the Tambov region are occupied by Lake Ramza
, which is the largest floodplain reservoir in these parts. The water in the lake is not entirely clean and smells of hydrogen sulfide, but this does not affect the taste of the fish or its population. Fishermen catch on it:
- roach;
- perch;
- pike.
Fishermen are constantly attracted by lakes Chistoe, Kipets and Svyatoe, which are among the largest in the region.
Lake Svyatoye is famous among local residents for its great depths.

Field Camp
How to get there: located 11 km from the city, drive 20 minutes along the Tambov-Voronezh highway. Fish: rotan and crucian carp. Description: Polevoy Stan is a small pond; there are not many places for fishing here. But this is a great place for going out of town and organizing a picnic. There are many trees and beautiful nature around.
Places for successful fishing
The largest rivers suitable for fishing are the Tsna, Vorona, Voronezh, Savala, Bityug, as well as the Kershinskoye and Shushpanskoye reservoirs.
You can fish almost everywhere. Fishing is prohibited only in fish farms. These are artificial basins created to increase the fish population or commercial fishing, such as Chelnavsky, Bokinsky, Shushpansky and Kulevatovsky fish farms . All of them are privately owned. On some of them paid fishing is possible, on others fishing is considered illegal.
On the Chelnavsky, Kershinsky and Shushpansky reservoirs, fishing is available all year round, excluding spawning time.
Kershinskoye Reservoir
Located on the Dalnyaya Kersha River. The depth of this reservoir reaches 19 m, and the total area is 236 hectares. The fish population here is not too diverse: rudd, crucian carp, tench, pike, perch and roach - that’s probably all you can count on.
Roaches are caught in clear water, closer to the edges. Feeding improves the bite, but in the case of large individuals it does not help much. Experienced fishermen recommend using the “feeding method”: throwing a crust of bread. Stale bread does not produce turbidity and thus does not attract small fish. The method does not always work right away, since the bread is carried away by the current, but after several casts the fish begins to actively manifest itself and catching it remains only a matter of technique.
It is best to wait for tench, carp and crucian carp in the reeds on Kershi. For this purpose, it is worth choosing a feeder as .
For fans of spinning, the object of attention here will be pike, but a trophy specimen is rare here: medium-sized fish are used for lures. You can catch it everywhere, as the toothy beauty travels freely throughout the entire reservoir.
The well-known 36 pond (32-36 km along the Voronezh highway)
How to get there: 32-36 km of the Tambov-Voronezh highway, near the village of Bogoslovka. Located 40 km from Tambov, the drive takes about 40 minutes. Fish: crucian carp bites, not large ones. Description: It is better to go early in the morning to bring back a good catch. There are a lot of fishermen here, so this is not the best place to take the family if you want to combine both fishing and a family picnic. It’s better to come here alone or with a friend, hang out your fishing rods, chat with the fishermen, or just go fishing for fun.

Fishing in Tambov. Where to go besides these places?
I think this question still worries you. Well, I didn’t talk about Romka’s proposal, who was interested in fishing at the recreation center. See how things are there and what kind of fish there is. We didn’t particularly resist, although we wanted to avoid paid fishing in Tambov. We went to the Galdym recreation center, which is located in the village. Gorelsky forestry enterprise. What awaited us:

- Beautiful nature.
- Equipped places for fishing (for an additional fee you can take tackle, fishing rods, etc. - in general, it’s convenient).
Everything seems to be fine. To my surprise, paid fishing in Tambov also has advantages. I didn’t do much fishing - I stood with a fishing rod for half a day, caught a couple of pikes, several crucian carp and perches, then went to the gazebo to rest. And the boys stood on the shore until evening. I walked around the base, met other fishermen, chatted with them, learned a lot of new things - in general, I spent a fruitful day and at the same time had a good rest. After “Galdym” we went home, the short rest came to an end, but I can say with confidence that the impressions we received here will be remembered for a long time.
