The Blue Lakes natural complex is located in the Narochansky National Park. But the forests here are dense, the birds sing loudly. You breathe in the air and can't breathe. It is so dense that it seems like your head will spin. You are alone in the forest, there is no mobile connection, no mobile Internet. It’s a little scary, but there is no choice - you need to move forward. Similar sensations appear on the Blue Lakes ecological trail. Its length is seven kilometers, and the start is between the villages of Komarovo and Lyntupy.

Equipped beaches with an entrance to the lake are only on Glubla. But some manage to swim in both Glubelka and Dead. Swimming is not prohibited there, but there are also no places where you can enter the water in a civilized manner. In Glubelka people swim by diving from a wooden deck. Around Dead there is only one small piece of land where you can approach the water. It looks black due to the muddy bottom. Unlike our photographer, I didn’t dare swim there.

— In the scientific sense, Glubelka is a unique body of water. The depth of the lake is 17 meters, and the reservoir itself is located in a pit and is closed by forest on all sides. The wind does not disperse the waves, which means that the deep layers of the 17-meter lake have never mixed in their lives. When the divers descended at the request of scientists to a depth of nine meters, it turned out that there was no oxygen, no algae, and only sulfur bacteria lived, says Valery Lushtyk, deputy general director of the Narochansky National Park.

There are 13 lakes in the Blue Lakes natural complex, but swimming is recommended in only four. These are lakes Glublya, Bolduk, Big and Small Boltiki. Most of the natural complex is a protected area. In fact, you cannot go far away from the ecological path. The paths were specially taken out of this area so that tourists could walk along them.

There is a group of lakes to which there are no approaches, but you can swim - the same Glubelka. In some lakes, for example Imsharets and Okunek, you can’t even swim, you can’t even approach them. Lake Ilginiya can be approached only from one place - on the road to Lake Bolduc.

Several centuries ago, monks from the Donskoy Monastery lived in its vicinity. They are known for breeding the famous sterlet in the pond and supplying it to the imperial table. Considering that such fish live only in clean water, we can talk about the good ecology of the lake in those days. Having the status of a natural monument, the lake, according to environmentalists, still has clean water that is safe for vacationers.

The lake is surrounded on almost all sides by various vegetation. Along the banks grow reeds, horsetail, buttercup, string, forest geranium, stinging and common nettles, lake cattail, common reed, chastuha, and coastal sedge. The eastern shore delights vacationers with perennial oak trees. In the area of ​​the other banks, the forest comes close to the water.
