It is no secret to any angler that feeding plays a huge role in successful fishing. There are a lot of nuances in preparing catchable complementary foods.
In general, every fisherman has his own bait recipes in everyday use, which he uses almost constantly, leaving a certain percentage for experiments and testing new recipes.
For greater efficiency, all sorts of bite activators are added to the bait, which stimulate the fish’s appetite. Dry blood is considered one of the most effective activators.
We will not promote or advertise any specific manufacturers, but will simply tell you about the advantages of dry blood for fishing.
Dried blood can be bought without any problems; it is available for sale in fishing stores. You can also order it online by typing in the search engine “Where to buy dried blood.”
Benefits of using dried blood
Dried blood is made from natural animal blood. First, it is subjected to fractional drying, and then to special ultraviolet radiation. Dried blood is also called "albumin".
Dry blood can be used to feed both peaceful fish and predators.
Most often, albumin is added to bait because it has an excellent attractive aroma that attracts fish to the fishing point, as if by magic. This is because albumin contains more than 80% protein and various amino acids, which create a natural taste and seductive aroma.
In addition, you can apply albumin to the bait itself. Once in the water, dry blood forms a cloudy cloud that attracts fish with its smell.
By the way, manufacturers of fishing gadgets always add dry blood to their bait mixtures.
Recipes for baits with the addition of dry blood are quite simple to prepare. You just need to add albumin to your regular bait and that’s it. Afterwards, the bait should sit for some time so that the remaining components are saturated with the aroma of albumin.

A precisely selected type of bait plays a significant role in the success of fishing. It can include a wide variety of components, including dried blood. In order for the addition of this ingredient to bring maximum effect, you need to know the specifics of its use and preparation.
First of all, of course, it is worth mentioning that “dried blood” is no intrigue; the blood of domestic animals is used for its production. First, it is subjected to long-term fractional drying, then treated with ultraviolet radiation. This method allows you to achieve complete sterility and also obtain excellent binding properties.
Dry blood is a very effective means for feeding both predatory freshwater fish - catfish, asp, pike, chub, and various peaceful species - carp, ruffe, tench, rudd. The bait performs especially well when fishing in the winter.
Dried blood for fishing how to use
There is nothing complicated about how to use dry blood for fishing. The method of application is quite simple and consists of adding the powder to the food. Afterwards, mix everything thoroughly so that the product saturates the remaining components of the bait. They are easily carried by water over a considerable distance, stimulating a strong appetite in the fish and forcing them to swim towards the fisherman. In cold weather, you can apply dry blood directly to the bait, so that after dipping it into the hole, a taste stain will form.
Today, dry blood is present to one degree or another in almost all modern baits. And for feed preparations specializing in carp, it is a mandatory component. The credit for this success lies in the structure of the ingredient, which is 90 percent protein. It is this protein that attracts fish so much.
In addition, dried blood for fishing has pronounced aromatizing properties. When the mixture enters the water, it gradually begins to exude biologically active substances, thereby attracting fish. After all, the powder contains a list of all the necessary amino acids, which allows you to fairly accurately depict the taste of natural food.
Biting activators from dry blood
There are a huge variety of food recipes containing different proportions of dry blood for fishing. The mixtures are excellent not only for peaceful, but also for predatory fish species. At the moment, Dry Blooder - it contains dry blood, as well as pheromones to attract fish.
What is the actual secret, and why do fish react so actively to pheromones? Fish, unlike mammals, do not have a well-developed intellect; the expression “fish brain” is known to almost everyone, so when it comes to taking some actions, instincts come into play. Dry Blooder acts on the behavior of fish in two directions at once by giving two signals, dry blood reports that “there is a lot of food in this place,” and an additional additive with pheramones acts as an appetite stimulant, which attracts them to the place where the water Our complementary food even included fish that, in principle, were already full.
The aromatic components of blood plasma are effective components of this bait. When immersed in water, the powder gradually dissolves and releases attractive substances, luring predatory fish. When immersed in water, each Dry Blooder releases blood enzymes and other nutritional components, as well as synthesized pheromones, forming a cloud of nutrients.
How to make bait with dry blood
Of course, almost every angler has his own complementary feeding recipe, so we will only describe the general principle of complementary feeding with Dry Blooder .
All dry ingredients are placed in a container and then mixed thoroughly. Then you need to add water from the river or reservoir where you will be fishing, and mix everything well again. Let the mixture sit for a while so that the bait absorbs the liquid. In cold weather, you can apply Dry Blooder directly to the bait, so that after dipping it into the hole, a taste stain will form.
Features of creating complementary foods in various conditions
When starting to make bait, do not forget about certain nuances. Depending on the conditions of use, it must meet the following requirements:
- When fishing for topwater fish, the food should easily form a dense ball in your hand, which is convenient to throw to a depth of 5-6 meters. After hitting the water, the lump gradually begins to sink, slowly dissipating;
- in the case of hunting deep-sea specimens, the bait, after compression, must withstand casting to a depth of 9-17 meters. In addition, when fishing in a current, the bait should crumble as soon as it touches the surface of the bottom;
- when you need to catch large or cautious fish, the food must be placed on the bottom so that it does not form a cloudy cloud that attracts small fish. It is worth taking long pauses between feedings, but feeding in large portions at a time;
But when catching small fish, the bait, on the contrary, should immediately crumble and muddy in the water column. In order for this cloud to last as long as possible, you need to constantly throw in small pieces of the mixture.
The above applies to cases when fishing is done from the shore. If fishing occurs from a boat, then the food must be placed in a special fine-mesh mesh, and its consistency must be of significant density so that it does not wash out with water.
Happy fishing!

ALBUMINE Brown powder obtained from dried cattle blood. Contains 95% pure protein, which is the most rapidly absorbed source of nutrition. It is known that fish are far from gourmets, and their instincts force them to choose the simplest and most effective food to eat.
SYNTHESIZED PHEROMONES A revolutionary discovery by ichthyologists. Even in Soviet research institutes, special mixtures that attracted fish were being developed, which was supposed to help the crews of commercial fishing vessels in their work. Bite activator Dry Blooder is it a scam or not?
Many contradictory statements are found in various sources about the DRY BLOODER bite activator. Reviews from experts speak in favor of this remedy. Attractants really attract fish. She smells food that is easily digestible. In addition, under the influence of pheromones, she begins to feel hungry. The effect of each component of the bait has been tested in laboratories. They are true.
The Dry Blooder bait has proven effectiveness, according to the chief developer of the bait, LARS BJORGEN, an ichthyologist from Norway. Here's what he says:
“My colleagues have finally found a way to make fish really hungry. We can say that we have fulfilled the dream of many fishermen - sometimes they cannot even take everything they caught with them. However, I urge you to remember the laws of population: Dry Blooder can greatly reduce the number of fish. Use it wisely!”
To improve your fish catch results and buy a really high-quality bite activator, you need to follow a few simple rules:
The first rule - squid proteins, elephant garlic, dried ridges of strange mammals - none of this works. You are simply being fooled by resourceful marketers. The maximum that you can do with the help of such “activators” is to litter the pond. You need to look for products that contain albumin (commonly known as “dried blood”).
It is this component that consists of pure protein, which is the easiest and most effective for absorption in any body. And since fish are not gourmets, they will bite on dry blood first.
The second rule - but no less important rule - the activator must contain pheromones. And in a synthesized form. It is these substances that provoke a strong feeling of hunger in the fish and force it to swim to where, in fact, the pheromones got into the water. That is, to the biting point. Catching such a fish remains a matter of technique.
Rule three - under no circumstances give any advance payment for these same activators. Now the Internet is full of scammers who profit from ordinary people without a twinge of conscience. It is better to order bite activators on the official websites of companies.
In many ways, the effect of a bite activator depends on the specifics of its use. All actions must be performed strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Also, you should not hope that after using the bait the fish itself will wash ashore directly into the hands of the catcher. It can increase the attention of aquatic inhabitants to the bait. However, to fish the prey ashore, you will need some skill.
DRY BLOODER real reviews
Considering real reviews about DRY BLOODER, it should be noted that there are mostly positive statements from customers. The fish really becomes more active and pays attention to the bait.
Arsen Nazoyan Definitely worth a try! I’m fishing, even though the kettle is full, but I’ve caught more perch than daddy. He’s still angry at me - he didn’t have Dry Blooder! One of the few bite activators that does not cause damage to nature. Last year, Rybnadzor banned half of them, but this one didn’t touch them. The thaw is starting soon, winter and summer activators may not be able to cope. And this one is universal, works at any time of the year.
Alexander Boychenko Guys, it says there that you can catch both predatory and peaceful fish with this Dry Blooder. But the blood is dry there, what does peaceful fish have to do with it? I, too, was racking my brains until my friends and I went fishing for crucian carp. Believe me, it bites like crazy. And experienced fishermen say that the whole point is not in this albumin, but in pheromones - they generally blow the fish’s head off.
Arthur After I bought this Dry Blooder, I almost lost interest in fishing! In reality, you get tired of getting fish, there is no sporting interest. I used it a couple of times and gave it to a neighbor - he’s still a “teapot”, let him feel the taste of victory. But Dry Blooder hooked me because it was made on the basis of albumin - the blood of domestic animals. I like to catch predatory fish using blood. In addition, as the manufacturer claimed, the composition contains synthesized pheromones that help fish smell bait over long distances.
Alexey Krivenko I heard that last year officials wanted to ban such “activators” of bite. But it didn’t work out for them. Here we need to appeal to the common sense of the fishermen themselves: with such catches, the fish population can be disrupted!
Maxim My wife is already tired of cleaning fish)) We go to crucian carp fishing purely with the guys, and in the end we come back with full trunks)). Well, it bites unrealistically!
I'm not a fisherman, I took it for fun. I was just going out into the countryside to live in a cottage. I’m not a fisherman at all, I don’t understand this at all. Lying in the chest of drawers was the cheapest fishing rod, about 300 rubles, and some very simple reel, fishing line, etc. I spent about a thousand rubles on everything, as I remember, 3 years ago - I never used it))) But then I found out that there would be a pond right next to the cottage and there seemed to be crucians and carp there. I don’t distinguish them, somehow I don’t care. I decided to google how to fish in general, what kind of bait, what kind of food, how it all happens. I decided for myself that the easiest way is to take ordinary worms and not worry (sorry, I’m not good with wobblers and the like). I saw this bait. I bought one bag and decided that it would be enough for me once in my life. I just took the bread, crumbled it, diluted this stinking crap with water and greased the bread. He put some of the bread in gauze, tied a stone and in the evening threw it into a pond near the shore. In the morning, two hours before the “fishing”, I simply threw some bread near the shore. Something has sunk, something remains to float. While I was preparing my hookah and selecting a snack to go with my beer, almost all the bread drowned. Well, I sat down to cast worms)) I don’t know how it is with cool fishermen. But during the time I was smoking a hookah (about 2.5 hours) I caught 7 fish of some kind, about 12-17 centimeters each. Maybe crucian carp, maybe something else. I let them go later, I didn’t plan to eat it - I’m disdainful. So I enjoyed it. Maybe they would have been caught anyway, who knows) but for me this thing worked, somehow it doesn’t hurt to pay fifteen hundred to feel like a fisherman. I have half a bag of stink left - I’ll try to give it to a relative, he’s a fisherman. He will give his professional opinion later.
Negative reviews
al5yans Ukraine, Cherkasy Another scam DISADVANTAGES: Price and composition One fishing online store had a promotion on dry blood with pheromones, activator Dry Bluder. First, we found a one-minute video by Sergei Zinchenko on the Internet where a man says that in half an hour he caught a bucket of large fish, and it was all thanks to this attractant. We, as avid fishermen, decided to chip in and buy it to see if it’s true or not. On my first fishing trip, I opened the package and added 1 kg of complementary food, hoping to catch roach and bream on the Dnieper River. I moistened the complementary food 2 times and gave it a larger fraction, since I caught it in the current using feeders weighing 80 grams. The equipment and fishing method was a feeder, but I didn’t see any results throughout the day. For half a day spent on the reservoir, I had absolutely no catch. Dried blood does not work, although I bought dried blood from other manufacturers and there was a result, but Dry Blooder costs many times more and has no effect. Several months later I am now sitting and watching videos of other anglers who have done video reviews and also claim they are wasting their money by purchasing the Dry Blooder. I asked why Dry Blooder and Fish Hungry were banned from being used in competitions and received the answer - these are chemicals that are also dangerous to health.
mrShults Russia, Volgograd I want to warn everyone against advertising that I myself bought into! DISADVANTAGES: Absolutely useless nonsense I ordered the Dry Blooder activator on the internet and was terribly disappointed! Not only did they charge 500 rubles for delivery (although they said 200 on the phone), but this crap doesn’t work... at all. I did everything according to the instructions and went to the pond... As a result, in 2 hours there was not a single bite, and my neighbor (he fed him porridge) had 2 white bream. I regret my naivety, but I hope that other not very experienced fishermen, after reading the article, will not waste money on expensive activators and other crap. Thanks everyone for your attention!
Vyacheslav, Tver Rumors about the effectiveness of this bait turned out to be greatly exaggerated - by 99.5%. We tried both in slowly flowing water and in stagnant water - the effect was the same - zero. The fish was still snoring, looking at this bait. Although the echo sounder showed the presence of large and medium-sized fish in large quantities in this place. So, people, don’t flatter yourself—focus is just that—focus. The only winners are the producers.

DIY dry blood bait
There are a huge variety of food recipes containing different proportions of dry blood for fishing. Below are just a few of them. The mixtures are excellent not only for peaceful, but also for predatory fish species.
For the first recipe you will need one part of crushed macadamia and dry clay, two parts of corn flour and rolled oats, one part of chopped worm, maggot and dry blood.
The second contains two parts of breadcrumbs and ground flour, one part of crushed dry clay, fine maggots and albumin.
Finally, the third includes two tenths of hemp oil, dried milk and blood, one part of crushed cake and dried daphnia, two parts of oatmeal and small maggots, three parts of breadcrumbs and five parts of small bloodworms.
All dry ingredients are placed in a container and then mixed thoroughly. Then you need to add water from the river or reservoir where you will be fishing, and mix everything well again. Let the mixture sit for a while so that the bait absorbs the liquid. Next, add chopped maggots, worms or bloodworms, stir again and roll into dense lumps with a diameter of 3-4 centimeters.
When starting to make bait, do not forget about certain nuances. Depending on the conditions of use, it must meet the following requirements:
- When fishing for topwater fish, the food should easily form a dense ball in your hand, which is convenient to throw to a depth of 5-6 meters. After hitting the water, the lump gradually begins to sink, slowly dissipating;
- in the case of hunting deep-sea specimens, the bait, after compression, must withstand casting to a depth of 9-17 meters. In addition, when fishing in a current, the bait should crumble as soon as it touches the surface of the bottom;
- when you need to catch large or cautious fish, the food must be placed on the bottom so that it does not form a cloudy cloud that attracts small fish. It is worth taking long pauses between feedings, but feeding in large portions at a time;
- But when catching small fish, the bait, on the contrary, should immediately crumble and muddy in the water column.
However, we must remember that successful fishing largely depends not on the composition and quantity of bait, but on its skillful use.

A predator is caught by the smell of blood
Taiga pike. Photo: Evgeny Kuznetsov.
NOT BY BREAD ALONE...
The classic's advice is more likely to make modern anglers smile than to be perceived as a guide to action. And, nevertheless, many species of our fish are not indifferent to the smell of blood, although the connection between blood and fish is strongly associated only with piranhas.
In the middle zone, a bunch of chopped worms in complementary food can gather a nimble flock near the hook in a short time. In the pond, it will be crucian carp, crowned salmon, the ubiquitous sleeper, and on the river gudgeon, roach, perch, bream, chub or bleak.
Read the material “Making boilies for carp with your own hands”
It is interesting to observe in clear water how the sluggish movements of underwater inhabitants acquire liveliness and some nervousness as the cloud or trail of smell spreads wider and wider.
The aroma of ready-made food and the presence of competitors gathered for a feast make the fish more actively rummage in the bottom sediments or chaotically grab large particles of raised suspension.
In the Arctic, it used to be that you just start cleaning fish in the river, and immediately downstream a school of brook minnow gathers, which grabs and absorbs all the pieces that can fit into small insatiable mouths.
Once, near Astrakhan, watching how, at the smell of blood, laundry instantly gathered and began to fiddle with the floating entrails from a freshly gutted carp. My friend with a sharp swing scooped up part of this flock with a landing net.
Read the material “How to catch pike perch at night”
Approximately twenty palm-sized rudd and silver bream were caught. Until this moment, the same little thing in a large water area was enthusiastically sorting through small debris on the surface of the water.
About twenty years ago, one old fisherman dressed in a rubberized raincoat and waders, seeing my gear on the train, shared the secret of how he successfully catches not only pike perch, asp, but also bream, carp, white crucian carp, and large roach on a donkey with a bell. And as a nozzle he uses strips of fresh fish fillets.
And there was no point in not believing him. After all, A.P. Chekhov noticed the tendency of “peaceful” fish to predation. “The bream pretends to eat lean food. Having eaten the fish, he quickly wipes his mouth so that the “gentlemen” do not notice.”
Moreover, it is not surprising that a predator has the smell of blood, that is, wounded fish, which is one of the active stimulants of biting.
Read the material “Cooking moose lip”
One friend, a spinning angler, even with the most sluggish bite, always caught several tails of his comrades who came with him to the pond. Once I found myself in the same boat with him, I witnessed a little trick.
The main trump card was the first fish. Then, unnoticed by others, a foam fish was applied to the bleeding gill. And as the bite weakened, the bait, saturated with a bloody aroma, was used.
The result of that fishing was, as always, a mysterious smile from a friend and an excellent catch in the cage. And for the uninitiated, there is one more reason to discuss the skill and knowledge of fish habits by our “lucky guy” in the evening around the fire.
FROM UNDER THE ICE
Each fishing trip adds priceless grains to the fishing piggy bank.
In the Khanty-Mansiysk taiga, local fishermen used quite large perches as live bait on the girder, which pecked here on the spoon. But in order to prevent the live bait from twisting the tackle, they cut off the tail fin with a knife, and quite carelessly. As a result, the fish often began to bleed slightly.
Of course, over millions of years of evolution, the predator has learned to find its prey even in dark coffee water under a meter of ice and a thick layer of snow, only by characteristic vibrations. But it seems that even in these familiar conditions, the smell of fresh blood activates and sends even a well-fed predator in search of prey.
Read the material “Dace in Spring”
The aroma of fried potatoes or meat also has a magical effect on a person, involuntarily forcing him to look around in search of the source of the smell.
Apparently, the aroma of easily accessible prey also has an irresistible effect on underwater inhabitants. The swollen belly of some pikes and the tail fins of freshly swallowed victims protruding from the mouth, and the bite on the offered bleeding baitfish confirmed this guess.
Fans of winter fishing on the Tersky Coast act more radically. Local fishermen are not blinkered by theory and postulates from fishing literature, and practically do not pay attention to the shape of the winter lure, its size, color, and the peculiarity of the game.
Read the material “Summer baits and baits”
They are ready to fish with whatever is at hand, even “spinners” and two-piece wobblers of the “Jointed” type, loading them on top with a “Cheburashka” or “olive”.
The main thing is that there is a piece of raw liver on the hook. Moreover, it is sliced and served frozen. After several strokes under water, the liver begins to thaw, and a fragrant trail magically attracts grayling, perch or pike to the bait.
Moreover, when fishing with a zherlitsa, there were cases when there was not enough live bait, and instead it was necessary to put pieces of liver or cut fish on the tee.
In the depths of our souls, we hoped that if the pike did not like such a bait, then we would catch a burbot, which in these places reaches a considerable size.
Read the material “Pike move”
But as practice unexpectedly showed, baitfish equipped with such a treat worked much more often than those on which there was ordinary live bait - perch, small beetle or harryuzok. And the number of pikes and perches caught with these baits, atypical for the middle zone, simply could not be compared.
And the larger the size of the bait, the larger the trophy caught. In any case, catching one-kilogram perch and six-kilogram pike was quite common.
But the most interesting thing is that there were also plenty of cases of broken gear, which means that the main trophies are still ahead.
Read the material “Spring in Kharabalyk”
Winter is taking its first tentative steps, covering village ponds and the edges of large reservoirs with crisp ice, so there is still plenty of time to apply the experience gained in our conditions.
But if you think about it, there is nothing new here, it’s just that the rapid development of the market for modern fishing gear has slightly displaced the experience accumulated by our ancestors.
But this is not a reason to completely abandon it.

Dried blood for fishing, how to use
There is nothing complicated about how to use dry blood for fishing. The method of using Dry Blooder is quite simple and consists of adding the powder to the food. Afterwards, mix everything thoroughly so that the product saturates the remaining components of the bait. They are easily carried by water over a considerable distance, stimulating a strong appetite in the fish and forcing them to swim towards the fisherman. In cold weather, you can apply dry blood directly to the bait, so that after it is lowered into the hole, a taste stain is formed.
Today, dry blood is present to one degree or another in almost all modern baits. And for feed preparations specializing in carp, it is a mandatory component. The credit for this success lies in the structure of the ingredient, which is 90 percent protein. It is this protein that attracts fish so much.
In addition, bait for fishing has pronounced flavoring properties. When the mixture enters the water, it gradually begins to exude biologically active substances, thereby attracting fish. After all, the powder contains a list of all the necessary amino acids, which allows you to fairly accurately depict the taste of natural food.
How to use
The method of use largely depends on the fishing method, as well as on the type of fish that is intended to be caught. The main disadvantage of dry blood is its crumbly consistency, which does not allow the attractive ingredient to be thrown into the fishing point in its pure form. When fishing from the shore, albumin has to be mixed with more viscous components.
If we are talking about luring a predator to a point, then albumin is mixed with heavy earthen soil. Before preparing the bait mixture, the soil must be sifted through a fine sieve, which will allow you to get rid of stones and other unnecessary impurities. After sifting, albumin can be added to the soil in a ratio of 1/10. The resulting composition must be mixed thoroughly. It’s good if the fisherman has a screwdriver with a whisk, which allows him to mix the components more evenly.
After the mixture is mixed, it needs to be formed into balls the size of an orange. The degree of compression of the bait balls directly depends on the strength of the current at the fishing point. The faster the water flow, the more you need to squeeze the bait. Having fallen to the bottom, the earthen balls will begin to gradually dissolve, releasing albumin particles and attracting fish for a long time.
To attract peaceful fish during the open water period, dry blood must be mixed with bait mixtures of plant origin. Many anglers make the mistake of mixing all the ingredients at once and then moistening the resulting mixture. This cannot be done. The fact is that if albumin is absorbed into the plant ingredients, the attractive effect of the bait will become much worse.
The correct mixing of bait for white fish is as follows:
- the dry bait mixture is moistened with the required amount of water and infused for 15 minutes;
- after the plant particles are saturated with water and swell, albumin is introduced into the bait;
- All components are thoroughly mixed.
A bait prepared in this way will be much better at attracting underwater inhabitants.
Using dry blood for fishing is much easier in winter. If you plan to fish at a depth of more than 3 m, then the attracting powder can be delivered to the bottom using a feeder. When it comes to fishing in shallow water, albumin can be poured directly into the hole. Most often, blood is used to attract perch. This predator very quickly approaches the red column of turbidity formed in the water.
When fishing from ice, good results are shown by flour “scramble”, to which 2-3 pinches of dry blood are added. The learned bait acquires a red tint and a specific smell that attracts the attention of underwater inhabitants.
Artificial baits for catching predators can also be treated with albumin. Before processing, you need to add a little water to the powder and mix the resulting substance until it becomes jelly-like. The resulting composition is best applied to a foam fish, which has excellent absorbent properties.
If a few years ago it was possible to purchase albumin only in stores in Moscow and other large cities, today it is sold in almost all specialized outlets. The experience of many anglers has proven that dried blood for fishing really has a strong attractive effect.
Biting activators from dry blood
There are a huge variety of food recipes containing different proportions of dry blood for fishing. The mixtures are excellent not only for peaceful, but also for predatory fish species. At the moment, Dry Blooder
– which contains dry blood, as well as pheromones to attract fish.
What is the actual secret, and why do fish react so actively to pheromones? Fish, unlike mammals, do not have a well-developed intellect; the expression “fish brain” is known to almost everyone, so when it comes to taking some actions, instincts come into play. Dry Blooder acts on the behavior of fish in two directions at once by giving two signals, dry blood reports that “there is a lot of food in this place,” and an additional additive with pheromones acts as an appetite stimulant, which attracts them to the place where they are in the water. Our complementary food even included fish that, in principle, were already full.
The aromatic components of blood plasma are also effective components of this bait. When immersed in water, the powder gradually dissolves and releases attractive substances, luring predatory fish. When immersed in water, each particle of pirkorm releases blood enzymes and other nutritional components, as well as synthesized pheromones, forming a cloud of nutrients.
Operating principle
Dry blood bait is often sold in fishing stores under the name “Albumin”. To prepare this ingredient, pork and beef blood is used. In the first stage, the liquid substance is dried to a powder state. At the second stage, the resulting product is sterilized with ultraviolet light.
After such treatment, albumin becomes completely safe to use. Albumin is often used to attract predatory fish species to the fishing site:
- pike perch;
- bersha;
- perch;
- burbot;
- soma.
In cold water, this substance perfectly attracts not only predatory, but also peaceful fish. One of the reasons for the high effectiveness of this bait component is that it consists of 90% protein. This protein is able to quickly satisfy hunger and restore vitality, so underwater inhabitants instinctively approach places where it is highly concentrated.
Interesting! In addition to its chemical composition, albumin attracts fish with a characteristic odor.
Many modern baits contain albumin. Carp mixtures designed to attract fish in cold water consist of 20% dry blood.
Preference should be given to the finest grinded albumin, since it dissolves faster in water and helps to quickly attract fish to the fishing point.
Some bite activators, such as the widely advertised Dry Blooder, are made up of more than 90% dry blood. Such attractants are also enhanced with pheromones, which, according to manufacturers, should significantly increase the effectiveness of bait.
Features of creating complementary foods in various conditions
When starting to make bait, do not forget about certain nuances. Depending on the conditions of use, it must meet the following requirements:
- When fishing for topwater fish, the food should easily form a dense ball in your hand, which is convenient to throw to a length of 5-6 meters. After hitting the water, the lump gradually begins to sink, slowly dissipating;
- in the case of hunting deep-sea specimens, the bait, after compression, must withstand casting to a depth of 9-17 meters. In addition, when fishing in a current, the bait should crumble as soon as it touches the surface of the bottom;
- when you need to catch large or cautious fish, the food must be placed on the bottom so that it does not form a cloudy cloud that attracts small fish. It is worth taking long pauses between feedings, but feeding in large portions at a time;
- But when catching small fish, the bait, on the contrary, should immediately crumble and muddy in the water column.
