The rudd, silver bream, crucian carp and even the bream living in lakes, reservoirs and ponds are especially not indifferent to it. River “residents” are more selective.

In addition to its own bait, semolina is added to dough, bait, and fishing porridge. As part of mixtures, it compacts the structure due to its high gluten content and is indispensable for preparing “indestructible” bait, which is popular in the fishing community.

It has been noticed that in reservoirs where fish are often fed with complementary foods when fishing with a feeder, or baited with cereals, they are more willing to take semolina baits.

When tying the fabric, leave room for further increase in the volume of the cereal. Throw the gauze bag into water at a temperature of about 90 degrees for 7-10 minutes. Remove the swollen and cooked cereal from the water and leave in a strainer to drain off excess liquid. Remove the cooled mass from the gauze and knead thoroughly with your fingers. Add your chosen flavor and knead the mixture with your hands. Bring to a homogeneous, high-viscosity consistency using rhythmic movements.

Second option (chatter or chatter)

When the dough becomes thick and sticky, transfer it to a suitable container with a tightly closed lid.

Pour water (300 ml) into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour boiling water over 3 tablespoons of oatmeal, add 1 tablespoon of sugar. Leave to infuse for 20-30 minutes in a warm place. Remove the prepared porridge from the jar and knead it thoroughly with your fingers. Knead quickly and lightly so that the dough remains elastic. To prevent the dough from sticking to your hands, first grease your hands with sunflower oil. It is very important to knead the dough while it is warm. When the dough reaches the desired degree of thickness and viscosity, transfer it to a convenient container with a tightly closed lid.

Third option (porridge)

Mix the ingredients in a saucepan: a glass of milk, 1 egg and a tablespoon of sugar. The sweet ingredient can be replaced with a tablespoon of liquid honey. Place the dish on the fire and, stirring thoroughly, bring to a boil.

Semolina dough for catching crucian carp

Fishermen consider dough to be one of the most common semolina baits for catching crucian carp. It is made according to several recipes, each fisherman has his own, treasured one. Let's look at the most common ones in more detail.

How to make a bait from “cool” semolina?

This type of bait can be used when catching crucian carp and all types of white fish using a spinning rod, donka and all types of float rods. It is better to store the bait in a bag or other closed container. To make hard boiled dough, it is recommended to do the work in 2 main ways:

  • In the first option, work is carried out as follows:
  • we prepare the same amount of semolina and water for work;
  • pour the water into a container and bring to a boil over low heat;
  • add semolina, stir the mixture constantly to prevent lumps;
  • after obtaining a homogeneous mass, remove from heat and wrap in warm clothes for steaming;
  • an hour after the semolina has swollen and cooled slightly, it must be kneaded like dough - work is carried out until the bait is given a sufficient level of elasticity and density;
  • Now all that remains is to add the flavorings and place them in different, always clean, containers; We put the rest in the refrigerator.
  • The second method involves making bait in this way:
  • pour 200 g of semolina into a container and fill it with purified water;
  • Having mixed the mixture well, put it in thick cloth or gauze;
  • fold and tie the corners of the fabric;
  • Wring out the resulting bag well and place it in a pan of boiling water;
  • after 30 minutes, wrap the finished semolina and let it cool gradually;
  • We collect the bait from the walls of the bag, add flavors and attractants and store it in the refrigerator.

Regardless of the preparation method, the finished bait can be cut into small pieces and then rolled into balls for bait; small pieces can be separated from the whole piece . The main thing is to consider the size of the ball and the fish.

What can you add to semolina dough to increase your catch?

Favorite flavoring additives for crucian carp at different times of the year and day will be several flavor options .

For periods with colder water you will need to add:

  • flavoring with the smell of crustacean, shrimp;

Rubber decoy

Another super bait invented by sports fishermen is a rubber or indestructible decoy. This bait does not fly off the hook. It can only be knocked down by a fish while fishing, or by the fisherman himself, removing the hook from his mouth.

Pour about half a glass of cereal onto a small handkerchief, collect it in a “bag” and tie it with thread. Place in boiling water for 4-5 minutes, then in cold water until completely cool.

Having untied the scarf you should see a semolina ball. If you break it, the semolina will be boiled on the outside and dry on the inside.

Next, mix this ball thoroughly with your hands. That's it, the indestructible decoy for fishing is ready.

How does it work? When the bait is lowered into the water, the dry grains generate dust, attracting the attention of the fish, while the boiled ones provide viscosity and tenacity on the hook.

Semolina with garlic

The easiest way to prepare semolina with garlic for fishing is to add it to the finished mash, mastyrka, dough with semolina, etc. garlic flavor.

If you want to tinker, then you need to do this.

1 way. Take a clove of garlic, crush it in a garlic press and pour a glass of water over it. Leave for 1-2 hours. Next, prepare mash using this water.

Method 2. Squeeze the juice from several cloves using the same garlic press and add it 1-2 drops at a time to the finished nozzle.

The best and fastest way, of course, is to use either flavoring or juice. It is believed that the garlic smell attracts crucian carp. They catch it with a float rod using semolina with garlic.

How to properly prepare semolina (recipe)

Before making the bait, you will need to do some preparatory work.

We will need:

  • container for soaking cereals;
  • water from the river;
  • spoon or stick for stirring the mixture;
  • semolina.

It is better to use water from a reservoir. Smelly tap water can scare away wary fish.

Having prepared all the ingredients, you can begin making bait. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of cereal with water. Here you should ensure that the water fills the entire semolina 5 mm above. Cover and set the container aside for an hour. During this time, the semolina will swell.

The mass is ready for further action.
Now stir the mixture with a spoon or any stick. This operation will take at least 30 minutes; when ready, the mash begins to reach for the spoon at a distance of several centimeters and does not come off. All that remains is to prepare and transfer the finished bait into a medical syringe, baby pacifier or other storage container. A syringe or nipple allows you to place the bait by gradually squeezing it out and twisting it around the hook.
If the mash is placed in a box, you can twist it using a thick blade of grass or wood chips. The consistency of the bait will have an elastic, not very soft structure. You should not allow the formation of a very hard, crusty mush. This bait can only be used as complementary food.

Recipe for semolina dough with garlic

When the water temperature is insufficient, especially in early spring or late autumn, semolina can become a desirable bait for crucian carp, but with the addition of garlic as a flavoring agent . Many fishermen use only fresh garlic cloves; some prefer a dried or powdered mixture. It is important not to overdo it when applying - in this case, the fish will be wary of the bait.

To prepare garlic bait you will need:

  • sufficient amount of wheat flour;
  • semolina;
  • sunflower or corn oil;
  • fresh or freeze-dried garlic.

Mix wheat flour and semolina in a ratio of 1/3. Fill with water and stir. Please note: the water is not poured in full; it is better to add it in doses so that you do not have to add semolina or flour. Let the dough sit a little and add sunflower oil.

You can use any vegetable oil, but crucian carp prefer sunflower or corn oil. After pouring a little oil on your hands, we begin to knead the mixture. A well-prepared mixture begins to smell like roasted seeds. All that remains is to add the garlic pulp and knead the dough again.

To prepare the flavoring, we experimentally select a sufficient amount of garlic, then pass it through a meat grinder or grate it. The main thing is not to overdo it if there is not enough seasoning. It can be added during fishing.

All types of carp and peaceful fish love to eat semolina with garlic in cool water.

Semolina with revit

An unusual bait option for fishing is a decoy with revit. And it is very easy to prepare. You need to take 5-6 pills of vitamin “Revit”, put them in a deep plate and add 1 tsp. water.

Next, crush them with a mortar to a yellow thick liquid. That's all. Pour this liquid into the dough or mash and knead.

It is not known why fish sometimes bite on such a bait better than on a regular chatterbox. She is probably attracted to the yellow color in addition to the smell of semolina. Why Revit, and not ascorbic acid, undevit and other vitamins? Apparently, Revit uses a stable yellow dye, which is what homemade fishermen love.

What kind of fish bites on semolina?

Fishing with semolina is considered one of the non-standard and effective methods. The semolina bait is suitable for any white fish. Therefore, in the process of catching carp, crucian carp, bream or other fish, it is preferable to have it in stock. Roach, rudd, ide, and bream are also caught with it.

In particular, fish prefer semolina in winter. In the summer, the fish bite much worse. Carp are most often caught with such bait at great depths or in underwater holes. To make the bite better, a small amount of flavoring is added to it.

Having the skills to properly prepare semolina will determine how successful your fishing will be. The main thing is that the semolina should not slide off the hook.

The main advantage of this method is that the semolina under the water column is quite clearly visible and becomes limp. Seeing the bait, the fish swims up to it and swallows it whole with hooks. If the hooks are good enough and match the depth of the reservoir, then there is a high probability of catching a large fish.

Fishing semolina in the microwave

To prepare the bait in this way, pour semolina in a plate with water so that it just covers it. Add flavoring if desired and leave for 10-15 minutes to swell.

Then place the plate in the microwave and cook until tender - 1-3 minutes, depending on the volume of semolina. It is important not to burn! Therefore, it is better to use a 30-second timer, periodically checking readiness. Next, cool and knead with your hands. This is how some craftsmen prepare semolina for fishing in the microwave.

How to prepare semolina for fishing

There are no complex technologies or specific equipment in the production of complementary foods. You just need a 1-2 liter container for cooking, cereal, water and three hours of free time. There are a lot of recipes for preparing semolina for fishing, and thanks to the imagination and experience of fishermen, they are constantly being supplemented and improved.

Chatter bait

Typically, experienced fishermen make bait from semolina, which is called chatterbox. Cooking takes almost no time, suitable for cooking both at home and on the pond. An excellent attachment for catching crucian carp and carp.

Recipe No. 1:

  1. Pour 350 ml of water into a small container and boil.
  2. Add 3 tbsp. spoons of rolled oats, tbsp. a spoonful of powdered sugar or sugar. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Then add 8 tbsp. spoons of semolina.
  4. Cook for 5–6 minutes.
  5. Leave for 45–50 minutes.
  6. Warm porridge is kneaded.

Ready-made complementary foods should be elastic and well mixed. After cooking, the semolina dough for fishing is transferred to a bag or covered with a lid. Store semolina dough for fishing in the refrigerator or freeze it.

Recipe No. 2:

  1. Semolina 250 gr.
  2. Water 250 ml.
  3. The liquid is poured into the cereal and stirred.
  4. After 5 hours, when the cereal swells, mix.
  5. The finished mash is viscous and viscous.

Some fishermen are confident that the faint aroma of boiled water scares away wary fish. Because of this, fishermen prefer to soak semolina rather than boil it.

To increase density, bundles of cotton wool are added to the porridge. This is done during the cooking process or during kneading. Cotton fibers prevent the mash from falling off the hook, as they make the porridge denser.

Rolled oats flakes will help enhance the attractiveness of the chatterbox. The finished bait is rolled in oatmeal and kneaded vigorously.

In muddy water, the white bait is almost invisible, so you can add dyes or fluorescent paint to the porridge.

Ask a Question

The key point when preparing semolina is the choice of the cereal itself, as it can be different. From experience I can say that you need to choose cereals marked on the package with the letter “M”, which means that this semolina is made from soft varieties of wheat.

Mastyrka from semolina

Another type of bait is mastyrka. It is usually cooked with oats, peas, corn, and millet. This bait sits well on the hook. Fishermen believe that complementary foods with pea and garlic flavors are the most successful option.

Recipe for semolina mastyrka:

  1. 250 gr. pea cereals are boiled until jelly.
  2. Next, add 10–15 ml of unrefined oil.
  3. Then add 200 gr. semolina, cook for 4–6 minutes.
  4. Place the container with the mastyrka in a warm place until it cools.

The finished mask has the structure of plasticine. If the mastyrka turns out to be liquid after cooking, then add crushed rolled oats, semolina, pea or regular flour.

To ensure that the mastyrka holds well, cotton wool is added to it.

If during fishing the bait dries out or becomes saturated with moisture, it is diluted with dry ingredients or sprayed with a spray bottle. It is necessary to have a small supply of dry ingredients. Flour, starch, rolled oats are perfect.

How to make a cool bait from boiled semolina

The attachment is not effective for float and bottom hunting in calm water. Anglers typically use a cool decoy bait to target feeder rigs. Several simple manufacturing methods are known.

Method number 1:

  1. 200 gr. semolina is placed in a fabric bag or multi-layer gauze. It is advisable to fold the material in several layers so that the grains do not boil down.
  2. Cook for about 45 minutes.
  3. Cool and cut into squares or rectangles. The pieces are selected depending on the type and size of the trophies.

The hard-welded nozzle fits perfectly on the tackle, without falling apart even in a stormy stream.

Method No. 2, cool semolina with garlic:

  1. Cook the cereal for 60 minutes.
  2. 15 minutes before the end of the process, add a few drops of garlic extract.
  3. Stir the porridge and cool.

Method number 3:

  1. Dry semolina is moistened and kneaded.
  2. Then the porridge is collected in multi-layer gauze and squeezed out.
  3. The resulting bag is boiled for 40 minutes.

Vegetable oils and other fatty ingredients should not be added to the bait. Excess fat content will deprive the bait of its density. It is better to add all coloring or flavoring components 6-10 minutes before readiness. Sometimes fishermen dip the pieces into liquid extracts right on the pond.

Rubber decoy

For a non-killable rubber nozzle, you will need a piece of fabric and semolina. Such a nozzle sits tenaciously on the body of the hook and falls off only in extreme cases. Sometimes the fish throws off the rubber band during the landing stage.

Rubber semolina recipe:

  1. 300 grams are poured into a cloth bag. semolina is brewed with boiling water. Keep in water for 6–8 minutes.
  2. Next, the knot is cooled under running cold water.
  3. A dense semolina ball should form inside the knot. There will be a cooked layer on the outside, and a crumbly lump on the inside.
  4. Knead the layers thoroughly until smooth.

The advantage of the bait lies in the coordinated work of dry and boiled particles. The grains form a cloudy spot, and the boiled component lies tenaciously on the sting and fore-end.

Semolina gluten

To obtain gluten from semolina, no thermal treatment is required. The method is outrageously simple.

Need an old unnecessary women's :) stocking. We pour semolina into it and tie it to a water tap. We take as much cereal as we think is necessary. Turn on cold water and rinse under a gentle stream, periodically lifting and lowering the stocking with your palm. This way the semolina will be washed better.

You can do all this without stockings, with your hands. Pour water into the semolina in a plate and wait until it swells. Mix the cereal into a tight ball, and then rinse under running water.

As a result, the suspension of dust and small particles will go away with the water, and a mass resembling white rubber will remain in the stocking. This is gluten. Then we flavor it and go fishing. No one and nothing will rip such a bait off the hook.

How to bait semolina

For the convenience of not only storing, but also placing the resulting semolina mass on a hook, you can use a medical or confectionery syringe. A toothpaste tube with a pre-cut wide part will also work. Before baiting, it is recommended to knead each lump well and give it a pear-shaped appearance on the hook.

The semolina nozzle is attached as follows:

  1. Slowly squeeze out the mass from the syringe and at the same time wrap the hook. Break off the last turn on the tip of the hook.
  2. If you are not using a syringe for storage, then you will need any simple wooden stick for insertion. The semolina mixture collected on a stick, due to its ductility, will gradually wrap around the hook tip, forming a lump of the required size.
  3. If the bait was stored in a container, for example in a matchbox, it is necessary to cut the resulting mass into cubes of the required size, which are subsequently strung on a hook. Tip: when baiting, the hook tip should be left open, since the semolina bait in the pond will get wet and slide down on its own.
  4. The attached semolina bait for fishing will gradually dissolve in the water, creating a light turbidity and thereby attracting fish.

Waterfowl decoy lovers

Many people love this simple bait. Crucian carp, tench, bream, bleak, rudd, roach, ram, roach, carp, carp, silver bream, ide and many others. Small catfish or pike are also sometimes noted to have an appetite for semolina. If the catfish is quite good, then the pike is more likely from hunger.

And it’s surprising that you don’t even have to cook it at all. I took a bag of semolina with me on a fishing trip, and before attaching it to the hook, I rolled it with my fingers to the consistency of dough, that’s all the wisdom. With such bait the bite begins at lightning speed. Small things come in flocks. But to catch big fish, you need to know a little more about semolina.

Semolina for fishing is prepared in advance; there is more than one recipe. Each type of fish has some of its own characteristics. Let's start with crucian carp.
