Chusovaya River
Perhaps the most interesting in terms of fishing in the entire region. Having a sufficient length, it stands out among all other rivers in the variety of fish species and possible fishing methods.
In the upper reaches (this is the area from its source to the village of Kourovka), local fish do not reach large sizes, and trophy specimens are caught exclusively in the spring, when spawning fish pass through here. One of the popular fishing spots in this area is around the village of Raskuihi. In the village itself there are convenient approaches directly to the river; on the shore there are excellent places prepared for fishing: with spears, cleared of trees, opposite holes or creeks. Caught here:
- pike
- perch
- chebak
- dace
- bleak
- bream
- Verkhovka
Perhaps this is the last place suitable for fishing, because... Below Pervouralsk there is practically no fish.
Between Bilimbay and the village of Kharenki there is already a mountainous section of Chusovaya, which, unfortunately, has been chosen by poachers, so the most successful fishing here is closer to populated areas, where locals do not allow setting nets. In addition to the species of fish already listed, here you can find:
- grayling
- ide
- asp
- Podust
- gudgeon
- minnow
- bleak
Solid specimens begin to appear downstream from the village of Sulem. The main interest for sport fishing is the chub, because... due to its weak gastronomic qualities, it is almost always released back after being caught - very worthy individuals are found in the river. In summer and spring, chub can be successfully caught using a float rod and wire. The baits he prefers are steamed wheat, semolina or dough. It lives mainly in pits, in small schools of 5-7 fish. It also readily responds to microjigs and microoscillators, turntables No. 00 and No. 000.
In the Perm region, the river becomes fuller, and the fish in it become much larger. Before the town of Chusovaya, the places are quite wild, there are few access points to the river itself, but the catches here will be more substantial than downstream, where fishing is much more comfortable and there are quite a lot of roads. The species composition of fish here is very rich:
- perch
- pike
- zander
- roach
- bream
- ide
- saberfish
- silver bream
- Podust
- white-eye
- chub
- asp
- loach
- ruff
- gudgeon
- nelma (at the mouth of the river)
- taimen (in tributaries)
Numerous tributaries of the Chusovaya are mostly small rivers, but they are surprisingly rich in fish. It is very difficult to get to them, but once you get to these wild places, you can go fishing very well. There are not many different species of fish here, but the populations of grayling and taimen are quite numerous. Among the tributaries it is worth noting:
- Shishim
- Daria
- Revdu
- Border Duck
- Sylvitsu
- Ilim
- Duck
- Sulem
The honor of Sulem flows through the territory of the reserve and fishing there is strictly prohibited, so when planning your route, pay special attention to this so as not to get into trouble.
Sosva River
The upper reaches of this river were once famous for their taimen and large grayling, but fishing pressure and poaching have reduced the population of these fish so much that one can only hope for isolated cases of catching in the most inaccessible places.
But, downstream, approaching the mouth, the fish becomes larger and larger, and its population becomes more numerous, so that already in the village of Romanovo, real trophies are often found in the catches. Here and below Sosva you can count on good catches all year round.
Sosva has many oxbow lakes, which can be reached in several ways:
- in the summer you can walk along the river by boat, and then land on the shore and move through the forest, where many roads are trodden and traveled; it is better to go there in an SUV;
- in winter, a snowmobile would be a good choice, although you can easily do without one, because there are many “winter roads” leading to the lower and middle streams. During this period, one cannot count on catching large fish, but medium-sized pike, perch, chebak, and sometimes even ide or burbot regularly delight anglers.
