What products to take for fishing for a week

Clothes for fishing

Clothes can be used either casual or specialized.

You should dress according to the weather. In summer the following will come in handy:

  1. Tight trousers.
  2. Shirt.
  3. Shorts.
  4. T-shirt.
  5. Vest.

However, do not forget that the temperature can change dramatically even during the day. Therefore, it is worth taking with you a sweater and a light fishing jacket, which will be good protection from the cold, insects, light rain or drizzle. To protect against rain, you should take a raincoat made of waterproof fabric with you when fishing. A mandatory part of the costume is a headdress to protect from exposure to sunlight.

When choosing shoes, you must be guided, first of all, by the conditions of the area where fishing takes place. When fishing from the shore, you must use light shoes such as sandals or sneakers, and when fishing in shallow water, rubber boots with high tops and waders. A change of shoes will always come in handy.

In the cool season you will need:

  1. Thermal underwear.
  2. T-shirts and shirts.
  3. Overalls.
  4. Jacket.
  5. Insulated vest.
  6. Socks.
  7. Knitted hat.
  8. Raincoat.

In winter, it is necessary to use insulated jackets, overalls, trousers made of special material using the “Core-Tex” and “Sympatex” (membrane breathable fabrics) and “Coating” (water-repellent material) technologies, as well as thermal underwear, shirts, jumpers, special woolen socks, knitted hats and gloves. Shoes must reliably protect your feet from severe frosts. Special boots designed for fishing are suitable for this. Typically, manufacturing companies guarantee comfort down to – 50*C.

What to eat while fishing

I am writing these lines at one in the morning, Ukrainian time. I can't sleep. How can you sleep here if a few hours ago my friend called me and offered to make an outing with spinning rods. This is both a break from the city and another opportunity to make a good report. But it is not important.

Just fifteen minutes ago, I finished preparing the “brake” for tomorrow’s fishing. While I was preparing the food, I decided to write a short article about what you should eat while fishing. The fact is that many fishermen (I used to be like that myself) take with them such crap from their food, excuse the expression, that if you go fishing twice a week and eat all sorts of nonsense (tasty, but completely useless), then in a couple of years serious problems with the digestive system will begin.

I once watched a film by the Shcherbakov brothers, where they argued the same thing as me. But the guys suggested getting out of this situation the hard way: cooking NORMAL food (first, second) right on the shore of the reservoir. This, of course, is the most correct option, but it is only suitable for those who have a car. For a traveler who gets to the pond by public transport, lugging around with extra dishes and a lot of food is not entirely convenient. The only way out for popular fishermen (and there are most of them) is to cook their own food at home and take it ready-made. The question arises: what to take with you from home to:

  • It was nutritious
  • Tasty
  • Healthy
  • Easy to transport
  • Kept in my backpack all day

In principle, I created such a menu for myself and now I will gladly share this valuable information with you =)

The number one product I always take with me is oven-baked potatoes. Not boiled, not fried, but baked. Potatoes do not take long to cook in the oven, and after cooking, they are perfectly preserved for a long time (unlike boiled or fried potatoes). In addition, it is tasty and you can easily eat it. Personally, for a one-day outing, 4-5 medium-sized potatoes are enough for me, because I don’t eat very much. No time - I'm fishing =).

The second product, which perfectly satisfies hunger, does not spoil outside the refrigerator and is very tasty... (just don’t say now that the crest decided to promote his lard =)) Lard is simply a wonderful product. It has a very high energy value; it will not deteriorate in your backpack if you walk along the river bank all day in the heat. In addition, lard goes well with garlic and mustard. Just be sure to eat it with bread or potatoes! Otherwise, you will then run along the shore in search of cozy bushes and wide leaves =)

If you are not stressed, then be sure to take some liquid with you. First courses are the prevention of ulcers. I advise you to buy a small thermos with a wide neck (similar to a jar), and pour hot soup or cabbage soup into it. Of course, such a thermos is extra weight and space in the fisherman’s backpack, but at least you will eat properly while fishing. And delicious.

To transport the “second” it is best to use special plastic containers. Such containers are durable, the material from which they are made is non-toxic, they close very tightly, so that “self-opening” in a backpack is impossible. They come in different sizes, are cheap and can be found in any supermarket. An absolutely irreplaceable thing, I tell you.

What should I get to drink? I recommend taking tea with you. Both in warm and cold seasons. It will warm you in winter, and quench your thirst in hot summers. The main thing is not to get carried away with sugar, otherwise you will want to drink even more after sweet tea. I recommend tea now, but lately I’ve been drinking coffee during fishing hours =)

If you are planning a very short outing (less than 5 hours), then there is no point in taking a hearty lunch with you. You just need to grab something to eat and maintain/restore your strength. As a “hunger quencher” and “energy restorer,” I recommend a chocolate bar. Eat one of these and you won’t want to eat at all.

All these recommendations are purely a personal opinion regarding the fisherman’s diet. Do you have something against it? I won’t be offended =) Write in the comments about your fishing diet, and maybe interesting recipes.

It’s up to everyone to decide whether to take one stick or several, but a spare reel, hooks, fishing line, and a set of baits definitely won’t hurt.

Will come in handy:

  1. A cage with a landing net.
  2. Folding chair.

Products for making fish soup:

  1. Bulb onions; potato.
  2. Rice.

The assortment of products, the quantity depends on the number of fishermen and the length of the days spent fishing, as well as possible replenishment of the assortment at the expense of the local grocery store.

Muffins in oranges

Those with a sweet tooth who can’t imagine their morning without something tasty can pamper themselves while hiking. For this dish you will need:

When going fishing, it is mandatory to have a first aid kit “Small tourist first aid kit”, which includes first aid equipment:

  1. The bandages are sterile.
  2. Elastic bandage.
  3. Tourniquet to stop bleeding.
  4. Bactericidal patch kit.

  14. Activated Charcoal – Used to neutralize stomach contents.
  15. Bellangin is a medicine for relieving stomach cramps.
  16. Scissors.

When fishing, you need to treat your clothes with repellents, the action of which usually lasts from 1 to 8 hours. After this period, the operation must be repeated. The World Health Organization recommends the use of about 20 types of repellents: DEET, Akrep, Picardin, citronella oil, permethrin, demethyl phthalate, IR 3535, Taiga, Clove, Glorus cream, “Our Mother”. It is worth taking care of sunscreen.

What to eat when fishing in winter

In winter, a thermos with tea or coffee, preferably sweet, is a must. If the frost is not severe, then you can take everything from food that you eat in the summer. And if the frost is bitter, it is better to take something that does not freeze:

  1. Lard, bacon.
  2. Raw smoked sausage.
  3. Onions, garlic, sandwiches - but just put them in the inner pocket.
  4. For tea - cookies, crackers, sweets.
  5. For snacks, the same nuts, chocolate, dried fruits.

Or you can take everything, but hide it under your jacket, in a thermos bag, which is not entirely convenient. Otherwise, lunch will be egg candies, onion candies, sausage candies.

Another opinion:

Lena, 28 years old, a fisherman’s wife and a fisherman herself: When fishing, I love bread with lard, or even better with grated lard, this is sold in butcher shops. Yummy. Convenient to spread on bread. All kinds of sausages, sausage on a fork under a gas burner. In general, everything is delicious when fishing, and when you bring the leftover food home, the child still finishes it. Happy - from the bunny. Why from a bunny? From a pike!

Blitztips

  1. When going fishing, take with you only the necessary things and accessories, without overloading yourself or your car.
  2. Be sure to have any documents with photos with you.
  3. It is worth constantly recharging your cell phone battery to be able to call for help if necessary.
  4. Prepare food for only one meal, and be sure to throw away leftover food immediately.
  5. It is mandatory to inspect every 3 hours to prevent tick bites.
  6. When fishing, take precautions by maintaining distance between fishermen.

What products should you take with you when fishing?

When going fishing, the first thing you probably think about is what equipment to take with you and what bait will be best for catching fish. But for some reason, many people remember last that food is necessary for the fisherman himself; they hastily prepare some sandwiches and rush to leave “at first dawn.” What if you are going to fish more than one day in a row?

As with any trip, when going fishing you should prepare products that: - are not perishable; — easy to transport, i.e. do not wrinkle, do not melt in the heat; - in high-quality packaging; - must be nutritious and satisfying; - those that do not require a serious approach to their preparation and will not take away from you the time that can be spent for its intended purpose, i.e., fishing.

But first of all, it is necessary to take care of a sufficient amount of fresh drinking water. For some reason, many fishermen are confident that not far from their fishing spot they will definitely be able to find a spring with good water. In fact, such a spring is not always found - this is the case. And secondly, you weren’t going to go to games for survival courses.

Salt is another extremely important product when fishing. Naturally, with salt, any food becomes more tasty, but this is not the main thing. If you are away for more than one day, you intend to bring your catch as “booty”; it is better to salt it at the fishing spot. Then you will have a guarantee that the fish will not spoil under the influence of heat.

Bread, which also must be taken with you on a fishing trip, is best packed in plastic bags - then it will not turn into crackers within the first 24 hours. Bread is one of those products that is always useful: you can quickly put together a sandwich, or just chew it if you don’t want to tear yourself away from the fishing process.
