Catching silver carp with a silver carp killer tackle

Pay attention to the hooks, your catch depends on them

The silver carp hides at the very depths and likes to go down to the bottom. You can catch it with various tackles, which take into account all the features of this fish. However, the leader among all is the “silver carp killer” tackle. To make it, just follow the instructions. By taking up this business, you will save a lot of money. The “silver carp killer” consists of a large float, below which a feeder or technoplankton holding frame is attached. Hooks are attached to it on short leashes. There is bait in the feeder. When it enters a pond, a cloudy spot forms. It is this, as well as the fragrant smell of bait, that is a trap for silver carp. He swims up and checks the mud with his gills, thus getting hooked with his mouth.

If you decide to make cloudy porridge for silver carp with your own hands, add milk powder, semolina, wheat bran, vanillin and crackers to it.

To ensure a successful catch with the tackle, be sure to hang the feeder above the hooks so that they are inside the cloudy cloud. This is what determines whether silver carp fishing will be successful or not.

Experienced fishermen use the following ingredients for bait:

  • pea grains;
  • a slice of cucumber;
  • algae;
  • a piece of carrot;
  • cabbage

The silver carp does not eat anything. You can also buy technoplankton. It looks like a small barrel. In water it breaks down and turns clean water into turbidity. Spraying in the water is done by a bait called “geyser”. They also use makukha for bait. However, it is important not to make a mistake here. After all, your catch depends on the quality of the bait you purchase.

it's easier to do it yourself. You can hang pieces of foam plastic on hooks as bait. Then you will ensure that the fish attaches itself faster. And the leashes will get tangled much less often. To catch silver carp, it is advisable to choose larger hooks. After all, this fish is not only quite large in size, but also strong. When it comes to life and death, she is capable of incredibly sharp and powerful blows. If the hook is not suitable, the fish will break off. By the way, make sure that it is always sharp, because it becomes unusable some time after fishing.

It only seems that the silver carp is sticking to an empty hook, but in fact it will smell good mud, and you will get the long-awaited “strong fish”.

Reasons why experienced fishermen choose this tackle

The effectiveness of the “killer” is colossal. No wonder it is a favorite among various options. It is ideal for silver carp. Despite this, avid amateur fishermen can use this tackle for other fish. For example, for grass carp. “The Silver Carp Killer” is quite easy to install. In addition, the tackle can be used with homemade porridges and technoplankton.

A large float holds bait on the surface of the water, so the tackle is visible from afar. Tackle for silver carp is a massive float with a feeder and hanging hooks at a distance of thirty to thirty-five centimeters.

Its equipment:

  • rod up to 5 m;
  • special coil;
  • fishing line;
  • float with keel up to 60 grams;
  • stoppers;
  • plastic bead;
  • damper;
  • swivel with fishing line;
  • sinker;
  • trempel;
  • leashes;
  • hooks

Advantages of gear

The silver carp killer is a highly targeted, highly effective tackle. Its specificity lies in its “tailoring” for this underwater inhabitant. Sometimes it is used when fishing for grass carp, and very rarely when hunting for carp.

The advantages of this gear are:

  • accessibility and prevalence;
  • ease of installation and self-production;
  • wide variability for different fishing conditions;
  • relatively low cost and the ability to use available materials;
  • high efficiency;
  • the ability to fish any horizons from the very surface to the bottom.

The silver carp killer can be used both with technoplankton and purchased bait mixtures, as well as with home-made porridges.

The gear works throughout the open water season, starting in spring, as soon as silver carp become active, and ending in late autumn, when the fish practically stops feeding.

Making a tackle called the silver carp killer

The process of making gear is quite simple:

  1. Insert the sinker through the fishing line, and then attach the stopper and float to it.
  2. After this, attach the shot with a bead.
  3. Tie on a stick with bait.
  4. Attach the float and feeder with boxes together at a distance of up to thirty centimeters. The hooks should hang down so that they can sink into the muddy area when submerged in water. The sinker will stand vertically.
  5. It must be mounted above the float. It will act as an anchor. The rig is lowered when the feeder is filled and inserted into the spring.

The “Silver Carp Killer” tackle is similar to a trempel; a stick with leashes is attached to it. It is easy to attach to the fishing line. The tackle is thrown into the place where the fish may be. Silver carp generally do not swim to the shore. Your task is to assemble the “silver carp killer” correctly, because that’s half the battle. If you fish correctly, success is guaranteed.

Silver carp is a large freshwater fish. If there is enough food in the habitat, it can weigh more than seventy kilograms. It is unlikely that you will be able to catch it with ordinary baits, because they are very selective when it comes to food.

How to make a silver carp killer with your own hands

It’s quite easy to assemble your own fishing tackle for silver carp. A 15 cm anti-twist made of plastic is attached to the float from a fishing net; a swivel was previously placed on the anti-twist. The shock leader is threaded through the float. A sinker of 55-80 g is fixed on the shock leader. After this, a 30-25 cm leash is installed on the float to the swivel, and a “silver carp stick” made from a bicycle spoke is attached to the leash, and 3 leashes with hooks are installed to it.

There should be a distance of 5, 15 or 10 cm between the leads to the technoplankton. The distance must be chosen based on the structure of the technoplankton; if the food supply is not very pronounced and the liquefaction is slow, the side hooks are installed at the nozzle, and the middle hook is five cm.

The middle leash is not secured immediately; first, a wide loop is tied at the top. Before installing the technoplankton, the middle hook is threaded through it and secured with a loop to the leash that holds the “silver carp killer.” If all manipulations are performed correctly, the middle hook will hang in the center of the feeding path. To prevent the hooks and leashes from getting tangled when throwing the tackle, they are stuck into the bread. After about 5 minutes, the bread will become soggy and the hooks will release, and the technoplankton will just form the first cloud of turbidity.

What does it take for fishing to be successful?

Experienced fishermen prefer to go fishing in places where fry were released at least ten years ago, since the catch can be rich and weigh more than ten kilograms. Fishing for silver carp will be better in greenish-colored waters. Water gets this color from plankton. In order for you not to fail while fishing, you need to know how to properly catch these large fish. Remember that silver carp are large and powerful fish. To win, kill him and enjoy your catch.

So that you don’t return home empty-handed, you need to know how to properly catch silver carp. As the practice of experienced fishermen has shown, it is best to catch it from early morning until lunchtime. It bites from the twentieth of May until September. Fishing is not carried out in winter. And at night, too, the fish hardly bite. Please note that the bottom must be clean. And then throw the equipment. Silver carp are timid, so swim far from the shore. The bait on the rigs should be changed after 2-3 hours, since it dissolves in water. To prevent the silver carp porridge from falling out of the spring, fix the fishing rod on the stand.

Next you need to do this:

  1. Release the reel and swim away with the sinker.
  2. If you are fishing in a small body of water, swim to the middle. On a long river - 50 or 100 meters.
  3. When you see that the float is lowering, the load will slide towards the shore. It will move the float a couple of meters. Take this fact into account when throwing gear.

It is generally accepted that silver carp feeds in the upper layers of water, and the “Silver Carp Killer” gear sold in stores allows you to catch silver carp only from shallow depths. But in fact, silver carp feeds at any depth, so on every fishing trip you need to look for the depth at which silver carp cruises. And for this you need gear that allows you to set almost any fishing depth.

The diagram of such gear is shown in the figure (click on the picture to enlarge):

What you will need to assemble the equipment shown:

Sliding sinker.

The sinker functions as an anchor so that the float does not move under the influence of wind or current. For a standing pond, a sinker weighing 30-40g is sufficient, although heavier weights, for example, weighing 60g, are often used to increase casting distance. The sinker should have a large through hole so that the rubber stop on the fishing line can easily fly through this hole.

Float.

The best float shape is egg-shaped or oval. The optimal load capacity is 50-60 g.

too small floats will not allow the fish to hook themselves effectively, and too large floats will be an unnecessary hindrance when casting.
The float must have a long, strong keel, preferably made of steel wire or durable, unbreakable plastic. The length of the keel must be at least 4-5 cm, otherwise the float will chatter even on a small wave, which means the tablet will jump, scaring away the silver carp. At the end of the keel there should be a ring with a diameter of 2-3 mm so that the float slides easily along the fishing line. The float's antenna should allow a firefly to be inserted into it for night fishing. Of course, the firefly can be tied to an antenna, but it is better to insert it into a transparent antenna. The color of the float on the bottom should be dim, and the top of the float should be painted in colors visible from afar: yellow or red. A large float is subjected to heavy loads when casting gear and landing fish, so all elements of the float must be as strong as possible. Good floats suitable for catching silver carp are rarely found on sale, so you can make homemade floats based on the characteristics described above. Our online store sells high-quality floats that meet all the requirements for catching silver carp.

Rubber or silicone stops.

Serve to set the fishing depth.

Any, the shape is as streamlined as possible, the size is small, because... when fishing at great depths, the stoppers on the line will be far from the equipment and, when casting, will hit the rod rings, and if the stopper is large, then, at best, this will lead to the displacement of the stopper on the line, and at worst, to a breakage of the tackle. The use of large stops also creates difficulties after casting, because a large stopper sometimes does not slip through the hole in the sliding sinker, and the sinker, resting the edge of the hole against the stopper, drags the entire equipment to the bottom or hangs on the fishing line if the carrying capacity of the float is greater than the weight of the sinker. But stoppers that are too small should not be used either, because... It will be difficult to select a stopper bead under them - the stopper will fly into the hole of the bead. Even small stoppers usually move very easily along the line, which leads to spontaneous changes in fishing depth. Therefore, we recommend buying several different stops: after the first fishing, you will choose the most suitable ones.

Plastic stop bead.

Serves to stop the pop-up float against the stopper.

The morning hole of the bead must be smaller than the size of the stopper so that the bead rests against the stopper, and the diameter of the bead must be larger than the hole in the keel of the float so that the float rests against the bead. It is also important that the diameter of the bead is larger than the hole in the anchor sinker, so that the bead does not fly through the hole in the sinker or jam in the hole of the sinker, otherwise the sinker after casting the tackle may not fall to the bottom, but hang on the bead. In the case of using large stoppers, the need for a bead may disappear, because the float will rest against the stopper even without a bead, but the disadvantages of large stoppers have already been described above.

A swivel and a piece of fishing line to prevent hooks from catching on equipment elements.

The swivel is necessary to rest the float and sliding sinker against it before casting, and a small piece of strong fishing line between the swivel and the silver carp stick serves to prevent overlaps and hooks hooking on the float or sinker while casting the tackle: thanks to this piece of fishing line, the float and sinker will be positioned at a sufficient distance from the hooks. At the same time, the casting range is slightly reduced due to the separation of the weights of the load and the tablet: the longer this piece of fishing line is, the shorter the casting range will be. Whether to install this element of equipment or not to install it is up to everyone to decide for themselves. In principle, a swivel and a piece of fishing line are superfluous elements if the hooks are fixed at the time of casting.

We can recommend the following methods for fixing hooks: 1. Place a corn stick on a silver carp stick along with a tablet, and stick the hooks into it.
In flight, the hooks will be fixed, and when they hit the water, the corn stick usually flies off the rig and the hooks are released. 2. The corn stick can be replaced with water-soluble carp fishing foam or a strip cut from a PVA bag. 3. A unique but very effective way is to use strips cut from water-soluble Zewa toilet paper rolls: the hooks are securely held in cardboard, which dissolves almost instantly when it gets into water. water-soluble PVA tape in our online store and forget for a long time about the problem of overlaps and hook hooks when casting gear.

Olive-loading.

Any sliding weight, for example, an olive weighing 10-15g, is placed on the fishing line directly above the silver carp stick. This weight is necessary for additional loading of the float, because a Hydroplankton tablet in water weighs only a few grams, which is clearly not enough to load a large float. This loading may not be used, but without it the float will start to shake even on a small wave.

Silver carp stick.

The silver carp stick (equipment for attaching tablets) can be absolutely anything, the main thing is that you can put a technoplankton tablet on it and attach leashes with hooks. You can use plastic sticks sold in fishing stores or sticks made from bicycle spokes or wire; you can also make homemade silver carp sticks from steel wire or even from a short pike leash.

_

_

Our online store sells high-quality equipment for fastening tablet taplets . The tablet is put on the equipment and secured with a large clasp - this is the most reliable and convenient way to secure the tablets. A leash with a hook can be attached to the clasp: the location of the hook under the tablet is the most catchy when float fishing for silver carp, because The vast majority of silver carp bites occur on the bottom hook.

Clasps.

Necessary for fixing Hydroplankton tablets on a silver carp stick. If you use a store-bought silver carp stick, then a fastener is not needed. The requirements for fasteners are predictable: very durable, not prone to unfastening under load, easy to use. Fasteners should not be small, because... Small fasteners will sooner or later unfasten or unfasten under load, and small fasteners will simply not be convenient to unfasten and fasten.

Leashes.

The main requirements for leashes are strength and flexibility. The thickness of the leash does not in any way affect the number of bites of the silver carp, so the leash should be as strong as possible, because it bears all the shock load when the silver carp jumps when fishing. The flexibility of the leader is necessary to quickly turn the hook towards the fish when it touches the leader. Run your finger across the hanging leash from different sides and you will see everything for yourself. To make the leashes as flexible as possible, you need to use soft carp leash material or soft braid. You can use leashes made of fishing line or fluorocarbon, but their flexibility leaves much to be desired, although, of course, you will not be left without a catch. The length of the leashes is of great importance. If one hook is used, it must be secured under the tablet. In this case, the length of the leash should be 7-10 cm. You can make it longer, but there is not much point in this, because hooking will worsen and the tendency to get tangled when casting will increase. If 2 hooks are used, then the length of the side leash should be such that the hook hangs at the level of the lower edge of the tablet. And don’t forget to inspect the leashes after each fishing trip and, if necessary, replace them with new ones.

Hooks.

What you can’t skimp on is the hooks, because silver carp are self-cutting, so the hooks must be very sharp, made of the thinnest wire possible, but at the same time large and very strong, otherwise the silver carp will easily break or bend a low-quality hook, and a small hook will rip out of the lip when playing. A suitable hook option is Owner 50355 in size 2/0 or 3/0, but any other hook that meets the above requirements will do. And don’t forget to change the hooks after several fishing trips, especially if there were any snags. After all, you won’t notice that the hook has become blunt or bent a little, the fish will simply stop being detected or constant disappearances will begin. To prevent this, make it a rule for yourself to periodically change all hooks, treat them as consumables.

Main line.

As the main fishing line, we strongly recommend using only strong and thick (from 0.3 mm and thicker) monofilament lines, because When fishing, the silver carp strongly resists, and not only the correctly adjusted reel clutch, but also the shock-absorbing properties of the monofilament saves you from breaking the tackle. But braided fishing lines (braids) are not suitable for catching silver carp for a number of reasons, and we do not recommend using them.

Spinning donka: universal tackle for catching fish

Fishing does not tolerate negligence even in small things. In order not to experience a large number of negative emotions when the fish come out, you need to approach preparation very responsibly. The selection and installation of gear is rarely universal, but it’s worth taking a closer look at the spinning donk on 34fish.ru.

Popular tackle - spinning donka

Spinning bottom tackle is popular among both experienced fishermen and beginners.

It has many advantages:

  • ease of casting over long distances;
  • versatility (you can fish in a variety of places and bodies of water by choosing the most suitable time of day for this task);
  • efficiency;
  • the ability to fish with one spinning rod, changing only the bottom equipment.

The choice of spinning bottom tackle should be made taking into account the specific type of fish that is intended to be caught. An equally important factor is the type of reservoir where the gear is supposed to be used.

To build a spinning rod you will need:

  • spinning;
  • coil;
  • fishing line;
  • equipment;
  • bite alarm.

It is advisable to choose a spinning rod that is light, has good rigidity and a large margin of safety. For fishing from the shore and for fishing from a boat, spinning rods of various lengths are used.

An inertia-free reel must have a smooth ride to prevent line breakage, and have great power (it will have to withstand heavy loads when fishing for carp, pike, carp, and catfish). The spool must also be large, because a thick fishing line is wound around it (depending on the type of fish - 0.3-0.35 for catching roach, crucian carp, bream, perch, silver bream and other not too large ones, and for catching carp, catfish – thicker).

A carabiner with a swivel is attached to the end of the fishing line, to which the equipment is attached.

Some fishermen prefer to connect the rig to the main line using the loop-to-loop method.

Equipment can be:

  • sliding or deaf;
  • with a sinker or a feeder;
  • with one or more hooks.

Fishing with bottom tackle (video)

How is the equipment installed?

It is advisable to make the equipment from two parts: the main fishing line and a thinner leash.

This will allow you to tear off only the leash with the hook when hooked and preserve its main part. The length of the leash depends on the siltation of the bottom of the reservoir or its rockiness.

Sinkers

Sinkers in bottom tackle are tied tightly or sliding ones are used. There are also sliding, removable ones that are easy to hang and change if necessary. Equipment with a sliding sinker is more sensitive. The shape and weight of the sinkers play an important role in the outcome of the fishing trip. They are cast mainly from lead or garth (a printing alloy).

When choosing a sinker for bottom fishing, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of the bottom of the reservoir:

  • For a very cluttered bottom, the “vanka-stand” sinker is ideal;
  • for rocky with crevices - in the shape of a round rod, cone- or pear-shaped;
  • in the current it is flat.

To attract fish with bait, feeders of various shapes and sizes are used, which at the same time serve as a sinker. One or several short leashes made of thinner fishing line than the main one, or braid with a hook, are tied to the feeder. The fisherman himself chooses which type of sinker he prefers.

Important! It must be taken into account that a sinker that is too heavy can easily break the line when casting. We recommend reading the article about choosing a fishing line for feeder fishing.

Hooks

Powerful, sharp (experienced fishermen prefer forged ones). There can be either one, two or three hooks.

Bite alarm

A bite alarm is either a regular bell or a special device that emits a sound or light signal. The bell is suspended on a fishing line. It is best to attach it to a piece of stationery eraser with a slot or a clothespin and only then attach it to the fishing line. In order for it to be easily detached during hooking, it is tied to a stand. During night fishing, when several donks are cast, a light bite indicator will serve well.

When going fishing, it’s a good idea to have several different bottom rigs in reserve. This will allow the broken part to be quickly replaced with another. In addition, it will save time, since you will not have to hastily assemble new gear on the shore. We recommend reading the article on choosing a feeder rod.

Making tackle for silver carp killer

The best results can be achieved when fishing with gear that is commonly called the silver carp killer. The main element of such a fishing rod is a frame , which can be made from a bicycle spoke. To make equipment for catching silver carp, you need:

  • bend a rhombus at one end of the knitting needle, making round ears in its three corners, and leave a straight outlet in the upper part with a thread for the head;
  • tie leashes made of fishing line 6 cm long with large single hooks to the two ears located on the sides - numbers 7-12 according to the domestic classification;
  • tie a piece of fishing line about 20 cm long to a wire diamond;
  • place a barrel of technoplankton or a feeder on the outlet of the frame;
  • make another leash with a hook 6 cm long, tie a swivel to it and put it on the outlet, screw the head of a bicycle spoke on top;
  • place a rubber tube on a twenty-centimeter leash;
  • put the tube on the head of the knitting needle:
  • make a loop at the end of the leash that will be attached to the main fishing line;
  • attach a sinker weighing from 30 to 50 g to the lower eye of the frame with a carabiner;
  • place foam balls on the hooks.

For fishing, a strong fishing rod with guides and a reel are used. To equip it, you need to attach a large float to the fishing line, which can hold heavy equipment, and tie a previously made frame below it.

Tackle for catching silver carp on a spring feeder, with the possibility of switching to technoplankton

A lot of gear has been invented to catch him. We will talk about one of them. In principle, the tackle is universal; both technoplankton and a regular feeder can be used as bait.

Let's start making equipment with a feeder - spring

We cut a fishing line about 70 cm long. At one end we tie a swivel, through which the tackle will be attached to the main fishing line, then we put a bead and a silicone stopper.

But if we cast the tackle, it will be under the influence of wind, current, etc. walk throughout the pond. That's why you need an anchor. This is a load weighing from 20 to 60 grams.

» alt=»Sinker for silver carp tackle» width=»640″ height=»357″> Two main ways to install a weight in a rig

1. We place the weight on the main line in front of the carabiner with a swivel.

» alt=»Option for placing a sinker in a rig with a spring for catching silver carp» width=»640″ height=»473″> That seems to be all there is to manufacturing. There are enough schemes for making gear on the Internet, choose any one you like. Now the fun begins. How to clog the feeder so that the elusive does not pass by. All techniques suitable for catching crucian carp, carp, and crucian carp do not work for one simple reason: silver carp eat completely differently than these fish.

When fishing in a water thickness of 40 to 60 cm, you don’t have to put anything on the hooks; it doesn’t have a significant effect. But when fishing closer to the bottom, or from the bottom, foam balls are needed to lift the hooks from the bottom.

It feeds on plankton, sucking up water and releasing food. Roughly speaking, like a sperm whale or a whale shark. Therefore, for successful fishing, it is necessary to create a spot of turbidity in order to attract the attention of the silverfish. Let's try to determine which product, when dissolved in water, produces a fairly large cloud of turbidity.

Recipe for homemade bait in a spring feeder for silver carp

First of all, let’s remember about industrial baits. The most suitable “Geyser” and “Vulcan” are not very expensive, but give a decent spot. Among folk flours, preference should be given to various flours: wheat, rye, corn, soy, pea, semolina. Cookies and breadcrumbs work well.

Perhaps no one will give an unambiguous answer to the question of proportions and composition. There is probably no composition that will give a 100% guarantee of successful biting. Everything is learned through process and experimentation. But I will give you a few recipes.

Recipe -1

Three parts of a mixture consisting of bran, ground hemp grains, breadcrumbs, “Geyser” or “Vulcan” in approximately equal quantities. One part each of milk powder, pea flour, Baked Milk cookies. (I buy pea flour from the market where they sell poultry feed)

Recipe-2

Three parts of bran, Geyser or Vulcan, ground flour, corn flour in equal quantities. One part each of milk powder, potato starch, semolina. Mix all ingredients thoroughly and pack. At the pond, add water, stir again and fill the feeder, after adding a flavoring agent, which one is up to you to choose.

You can add pea porridge to the dry mixture, boiled until pureed, with the addition of semolina. If necessary, coat the filled feeder with this pea porridge; it also gives a good stain. Happy fishing everyone!

PS If the elusive fish doesn’t bite, feel free to remove the float and use the tackle as a donkey with a feeder.

Pugach Yuri - Specially for Homemade FISH, Avdeevka, Ukraine

  • Catching silver carp with peas
  • Reed shoots - attachment for silver carp

Recently, silver carp has become increasingly popular among anglers. This can perhaps be explained by the fact that the fish senses and spreads perfectly in our reservoirs. In addition, there are often cases when it is possible to catch large specimens, which, of course, makes catching this fish more exciting.

And if everything is more or less clear with open water fishing, then what to do in winter. Usually at this time it stays at depth in wintering pits and is no longer as active as in summer, but it can still be caught.

Fishing for silver carp in winter has its own characteristics, first of all it is the nutrition of the fish. It is believed that in the cold season it ceases to be a “herbivore”, but very willingly begins to take baits of animal origin, sometimes displaying the habits of a real predator, so you can catch it not only with the classic corn grains or technoplankton.

In winter, silver carp is almost constantly at the bottom, digging in silt saturated with organic matter, so bloodworms are a completely natural bait for it during this period. However, during the period of activity, catching silver carp using maggots can also be successful. Many anglers successfully experiment with “sandwiches” of various compositions. But silver carp, as a rule, ignores all kinds of artificial baits and can only get caught by them by accident. The best bite is observed on the first and last ice, as well as during long thaws.

They are usually caught using black, green or light green jigs; bloodworms can be used as bait. And if you consider that he is always partial to baits of plant origin, then why not experiment with fishing with the same aloe leaves or corn in the winter.

Despite the sluggish state, the silver carp bite is very powerful. As a rule, the nod begins to bend sharply downwards and the angler should be prepared for this. Silver carp always offers strong resistance, so for fishing you will need a strong winter fishing rod with plenty of fishing line.

The main thing is that immediately after hooking, do not loosen the line under any circumstances, preventing the fish from making the final jerk. Of course, you will have to try, but after a stubborn struggle, the silver carp stops resisting, and dragging it to the hole is no longer difficult.

Groundbait and bait for catching silver carp on technoplankton

Technoplankton is the best bait and bait for catching silver carp. Fishermen buy technoplankton bait in specialized stores, but the pleasure and excitement of fishing for silver carp is worth the money spent.

Technoplankton contains special flavoring and aromatic additives that stimulate the fish's appetite. Modern manufacturers produce bait with many different tastes and smells: bloodworm, original, strawberry, honey, anise, raspberry, blood, vanilla and others. But some fishermen are trying to make their own bait that could replace purchased technoplankton. But, we have not yet come up with a recipe that would work on all bodies of water.

For well-studied, specific reservoirs, you can choose a suitable recipe. The main property of barrels is the slow soaking of the bait in the water. Gradually soaking, technoplankton forms a fragrant and attractive food spot for silver carp. Technoplankton is both groundbait and bait for silver carp.

Note to the fisherman! Some fishermen recommend using baits of plant origin as bait. Silver carp bite well on undercooked peas. You can also catch silver carp using bait made from cake and corn. Put 3 corn on the hook and lead them on a leash. Then, the cake is mixed with clay, a “sausage” is made, it is attached to a hook and also taken away on a leash. Then 3 more corn are put on the hook. This attachment is both bait and sinker.

DIY bait for silver carp

We need a container that holds 3.5 - 4 liters of water , and put it on fire. Bring the temperature to 50 – 60 ºС and add 1 kg of peas . Reduce the heat to very low. The peas need to be cooked for 3 - 4 hours until they are softened.

When cooking, be sure to stir periodically . If the peas burn, you can start preparing the bait again.

After cooking, strain our mixture through a colander. We no longer need peas; they can be used, for example, for feeder fishing for bream. And for silver carp we will use the decoction that we have strained.

We put the broth on the fire again and begin to pour semolina into it (you need 2-2.5 kg). Add the semolina very slowly, stirring thoroughly so that there are no lumps. And we continue like this until we can’t stir with a spoon. Afterwards, remove our porridge from the heat and begin to knead it with your hands, adding semolina until the porridge stops sticking to your hands.

You can also add honey (1-2 tablespoons) to our mixture
